Reference: Isaiah 63:14 New Living Translation (NLT)
"As with cattle going down into a peaceful valley, the Spirit of the LORD gave them rest. You led your people, LORD, and gained a magnificent reputation."
God is awesomely perfect. Why? He led His people. And today's article is focused on the segmentary statement:
You led your people, LORD.
Unlike many people or nations who are [or were] led in their battles by human Kings, world leaders, worldly strategies or the society, this type of leading was driven by perceived divine authority rather than any societal ruling standard. So the Supreme leader was and is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else - not only in this world but also in the world to come. The supremacy of His leading authority magnificently set the centre stage for bringing Israel through the sea, indicating that it's got nothing to do with human strategy or ability, but divine approval based on a surpassingly-exceptional power exertion.
More so, this was a proven testimony from Prophet Isaiah conveying a generational transmission of relevant cognizance which ensures that the knowledge of God's deeds, as well as His singular leading, is sustained in our hearts as deep-set particulars with lasting impact, and that each new generation is equipped by such historical knowledge, in order to be enabled to exercise an unwavering trust and undaunting faith in God, whenever it is needful for them to duplicate or demonstrate the same level of victory in any given situation.
The act of remembering God's leading strategy is not merely chained to a "personalised" basis of operation but to communally-inspired interest, which cannot be outlived, denoting a generational responsibility. To that effect, the Israeli descents were instructed to teach their children about God's mighty acts. Then the communal aspect of such remembrance is highly evident in their yearly celebration of feasts and festivals. To instantiate this phenomenal verity, feasts such as Passover (Pesach), Shavout (feast of harvest) and Sukkot (feasts of tabernacles), serve as garnered acts of remembering God's deliverance and provision, on the strength of His profound leading advantage.
Indeed, Supreme Deity led them through clusters of clash-based encounters with Pharaoh, including the incidental reference which was "the dramatic parting of the Red Sea", full of strengthening importance, but the entirety of His divine leading pointed out the remarkable deliverance found in acknowledging God as the "all-powerful" pre-eminent Deity. Similarly, the miraculous manna in the wilderness which was sent from above was more than just a benevolent supply, supernatural provision and edacious sustenance; by this I mean that it was duly indicative of a deeper truth about God's satisfying provision, in relation to both spiritual and physical hunger.
Into the bargain, the practice of remembering God's victory on behalf of His people is a foundational aspect of the Christian faith, prodigiously located in several passages of the Scripture. Hence, the deliverance of the Israeli descents from Pharaoh's bondage is just one of Israeli's historically-dramatic events; However, it is full of symbolic significance for today's saints or in this day and age. In its narrative analysis, it is a symbolic reflection that does not only magnify God's omnipotent sovereignty at any given time but also empowers our faith walk, providing us with an ample courage and godly perspective needed to navigate all forms of earthly challenges that collide with our Christian faith. Stay tuned for part 6. Shalom!
