NO OTHER OPTION - PART 1

TUESDAY 11 JULY 2023

When you have Christ and you are committed to His will, you will have no other option. In other words, you ought to remain fixed in Him. And until you gain an inward, mindful and emperical knowledge of His Word, you will still have an option. Therefore, the aim of this topic is to focus your mind and attention on Jesus, and to persuade you to be conversant with the Word, as you continually take delight in Christ. Let His counsel be your guide at all times; meekly receive and retain His words in your life and esteem it above all things, and I also mean - above the most valuable things in this world. This is the manner in which Simon Peter recognised the Lord and His words, which is quite awesome. More below!

Reference: John 6:68 New Living Translation (NLT) Simon Peter replied, "Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life."

According to the above Scripture, Peter was totally immersed in the Lord, and so, he expressed clarity of purpose in the way he should go. In the same manner, I'm indispensably bound to instruct myself to follow Jesus and stick to the way of the Spirit, without having an alternative. And Here's why Peter's perspective is extremely important to us: Our Christian life will not be fully aligned with the mind of Christ until our conviction about Him and His Word is firmly established in our hearts.

When you still have too many choices and alternatives, other than following the Word of God, you have not fully immersed yourself in Christ Jesus. So learn to generate and develop utmost interest in the Word. Peter was wholly convinced that the Lord Jesus has the words that give eternal life. So he said, "To whom would we go?" In other words, we have no other option. And indeed, it is so true because Hebrews 4:12 says, "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" (KJV).

Why must you acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ as the only true option and recourse? He is the only way, the truth and life (John 14:6 NIV). In a nutshell, everything about the glorious Gospel, both the way, the truth and the superior life it communicates - is the doctrine of Christ, and it is called so, because Christ is the author; and He received it from His Father. In John 17:8, Jesus said to His Father, "For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me" (NIV). In other words, the revelation of the Word leads us to God the Father; Christ Himself is the revealer, and the revealed is the Word.

Psalm 119:130 reads, "The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple" (NKJV). Beloved, allow the Word to enter into your spirit on a daily basis and let it settle there through the Spirit of God, such that it becomes constant and fixed. The Word should never be like a stranger to you. This is the reason you must continue in it, not for a while, but always, by engaging in frequent reading, studying, hearing of it and cogitating on it, with ardent alacrity and a steady demonstration of faith in it. Familiarly converse with it, treat it with utmost respect and share it with others until it becomes so fixed and established in your heart, that nothing in this world can uproot its foundation in your inward being. Stay tuned for part 2. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - John 8:31; 1 Peter 1:23; John 15:7; Colossians 3:16; James 1:21.

Exuberant Declaration: On a daily basis, I embrace the word of Christ by alacritous cogitation, and it dwells richly in me in all its wealth of wisdom and knowledge, thereby empowering me to teach and admonish others with it, with thankfulness in my heart to God. Hallelujah!
