MULTIPLICATION BY DIVINE KNOWLEDGE

SATURDAY 11 NOVEMBER 2023

Our manner of response to divine knowledge or spiritual realities determines the results we experience in life. Such responses can either cause tremendous growth or withhold or minimise such an impact. For instance, there is something about God and our Lord Jesus Christ that multiplies grace and peace in our lives, when we go for and respond to their life-changing knowledge.

Reference: 2 Peter 1:2 King James Version (KJV) "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord."

When grace and peace are to be multiplied unto us, it means, "let them be surplus in operation." Peter didn't say, 'Let grace and peace be "added", but rather be "multiplied."' The latter is superior to the former - based on extent, upgrade, intensification, escalation, enlargement and augmentation.

Grace and peace are favourable outcomes. To ensure that we realise them as our notable effects, apostle Peter also gave us the accurate formula for their multiplication, which is through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord. When I first read it, what came to mind is that the knowledge of God the Father and the Son are just too much to comprehend, yet when we invest them richly in our spirit, they perform in and through us, much more than we think or imagine, thereby enriching our lives with grace and peace.

What did the Bible say about the knowledge of God? Romans 11:33 reads, "Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!" (NIV).

What did the Bible say about the knowledge of Christ? Colossians 2:2-3 reads, "My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (NIV).

Our Christian lives require abundance of grace and peace, and thus, we should demand and consume the true knowledge of God and our Lord Jesus Christ with all diligence. When we consume such knowledge and apply them effectively, we begin to function in moral excellence, and welcome self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, compassion, steadfastness, goodness and charity, which in turn, result in multiplied grace and peace.

In sum, as we gain and experientially apply the knowledge of God and of Christ, we obtain the understanding of the effects of grace and peace, which grants us special sense of spiritual and physical well-being in our personal lives.

Eventually, we begin to notice the difference they make in our Christian faith, such as: consistent spiritual growth, higher levels of perceived spiritual understanding, sustained productivity, stable rest of mind, good success, plus coordinated brand of influences that initiates, sustains, and amplifies empowered functionality in our walk with God. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Daniel 6:25; Romans 8:6; 2 Corinthians 4:15; 1 Peter 1:2.

Guided Prayer: Heavenly Father, your accurate knowledge is a luxuriant vine that multiplies grace and peace and bears forth fruit in abundance. According to the knowledge of your Son and His life in me, you have multiplied my grace and peace. As I continually prosper in the land, they adorn my possessions, and keep me fruitful and exceedingly great, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
