JUSTIFIED BY THE BLOOD

FRIDAY 08 DECEMBER 2023

Reference: Romans 5:9 New King James Version (NKJV)

"Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him."

Before we became righteous, we were cleansed by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. That's what granted us access to the Kingdom of God. Moreover, our justification by the blood is what makes our life the manifestation of God's righteousness.

Since Christ's crucifixion on the cross, the blood of Jesus has been emblematic of cleansing of sins and our deliverance from the yoke of all Satanic bondage. This means that the cleansing of our souls from the power and pollution of sin was made possible by the blood.

Now watch this: Paul says, "Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him." What is justification? Justification is the action of making and showing something to be right. It is also the action of declaring or making righteous in the sight of God. In the Greek Grammar, it is the act of pronouncing us righteous, which is a process of absolution. So Paul is saying that our justification is a continual process exerted by the blood. Again, he said, "having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him." So it is a habit of grace that continues in our lives, so as to be saved from God's wrath coming at the end of age. Got it?

Yes, you are now a born again Christian, because you were cleansed, delivered and purchased by the blood. However, you are continually cleansed, secured and maintained by the blood - as you grow in conformity with the life of Christ, from strength to strength, day by day. To that effect, 1st John 1:7 says, "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin" (NIV). Got it? Justification by the blood continues in our lives as we walk in the light. As the new creations interact with each other through continual fellowship, the blood of Jesus has a high capacity to eradicate all entrances of sin.

Why is having fellowship with fellow saints of paramount importance? Firstly, through fellowship, you can layer yourself with the blanket of divine aura, as well as, orient yourself to divine realities, through the habit of corporate prayer and yielding to the Word, thereby becoming more like Christ in your every day Christian walk. Secondly, you'll always leave informed, empowered, and ready to invigorate your life with God's perspective.

Thirdly, it leads to mastery experiences, for instance, you'll master the act of walking by faith and producing faith results. Fourthly, you get to renew your mind with the Word and by the Spirit. To that effect, Romans 12:2 reads, "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect" (NLT). Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 2:24; Hebrews 9:12; Colossians 1:14.

Exuberant Declaration:

I am justified by the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, I know that I've been ransomed from the futile ways inherited from Adamic nature, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. Glory to God!
