HOLY SPIRIT: THE PERFECT GIFT - PART 2

The beauty of the Holy Spirit in our lives is that as a perfect gift from God, He is our ever present help, counsellor, guide, mentor, instructor and advanced intelligence. He is a perfect gift because we actively engage Him for help and receive it. Sometimes, we don't even request for help, yet we hear His voice prompting us from within for good, to clue us in, regarding any matter pertaining our being. Understand that the Holy Spirit is life Himself. If He lives in you, you are peculiar because His divine presence has settled in you to find expression in every atom of your existence.

Reference: Luke 11:13 New International Version (NIV) "If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

Jesus talked about the limitation of man because evil is present in them and also commended the perfect and just God who gives the perfect and greatest gifts. Psalm 92:15 reads, "The LORD is just! ...There is no evil in him!" (NLT). As He is just and perfect, so are all His gifts which are eminently satisfactory.

Beloved, by our daily, regular and accurate bond and engagement with the Spirit of truth, we become more adept at hearing and understanding His voice. As His voice becomes a huge part of our lives, we can easily have access to every other spiritual and good gifts He offers us, which come from above because He is from above. Remarkably, the Bible says, "Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow" (James 1:17 NLT). Did you notice that the gifts pass through the lights in the heavens to get to us, though obscured? Angels are usually the unseen agents of distribution of these gifts as we continually cooperate with the Holy Spirit.

To instantiate this, we can relate with a story in the book of Genesis chapter 18 when the Lord visited Abraham through three visitors. "Where is your wife Sarah?" they asked Abraham. "There, in the tent," he said. Then one of them said, "I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son" (Genesis 18:9-10 NIV). We can also find in the book of Daniel where an angel arrived with Daniel's answer and He told Daniel, "Don't be afraid, Daniel. God has heard everything that you said ever since the first day you decided to humble yourself in front of your God so that you could learn to understand things. I have come in response to your prayer. The commander of the Persian kingdom opposed me for 21 days..." (Daniel 10: 12-13 GW). But why was the Angel opposed?

Hear me, God has released all the gift of diverse blessings in the Heavenly realms because the Bible says, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3 NIV). Indeed, He has blessed us with very good and perfect gift in the heavenly realms. However, a lot happens in the heavenly realms. So just as the astronauts participate in spaceflights and are able to handle challenging situations that may arise as they navigate around the heavenly lights and observe the wonderful gem of planet Earth floating in space, so do angels coming down to bless us, sometimes witness some unseen, contrary forces in the heavenly realm militating against the good and perfect gifts from God (Daniel 10:20-21 NIV). They are all adventurous and daring experiences. This is why St James the Apostle noted that God, the Father of heavenly lights, has given us every good and perfect blessing, assuring us that He is not the problem in that realm because in Him, there is no change or shifting shadow. Exuberant Declaration: I'm constantly filled with the gifts of the Spirit and by His enablement, I receive the best from God, who made the great heavenly lights. I'm always conscious of the deep and intense promptings from the Spirit of God evidently expressed within me, thereby teaching me how to walk with God and possess every good and perfect gift from Him. Under the character of the wisdom of the Spirit, I enjoy my heavenly Father, in regard to my love for Him, our perfect harmony, my intimate fellowship with Him and the meditations of my heart and thoughts.
