HEED THE VOICE OF WISDOM - PART 9

MONDAY 26 MAY 2025

Why must we listen to or pay attention to the voice of wisdom? We listen to the voice of wisdom, so as to acknowledge, comprehend, believe and action it, for our own benefits. More below!

Reference: Proverbs 1:32-33 Common English Bible (CEB)

"For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm."

Whether or not we realize it, the overall well-being of a child of God is directly tied to the voice of wisdom.

In his Proverbial Edition, King Solomon's inspired utterances numbered as Proverbs 6:20-23 (AMP) reads:

20. My son, be guided by your father's [God-given] commandment (instruction)

And do not reject the teaching of your mother;

21. Bind them continually upon your heart (in your thoughts), And tie them around your neck.

22. When you walk about, they (the godly teachings of your parents) will guide you; When you sleep, they will keep watch over you; And when you awake, they will talk to you.

23. For the commandment is a lamp, and the teaching [of the law] is light,

And reproofs (rebukes) for discipline are the way of life.

Gracious words and instructions flow from the lips of parental figures that emit godly influence. And a viable witness to a parental excellence implies that good sons follow their father's good advice; they don't wander off from their mother's teachings which are designed by God. They wrap themselves in them from head to foot, and wear them like a scarf around your neck. Wherever they walk during the day or at night, they are guided by those wise words.

Even when they sleep, they are guarded by them; when the wake up, they'll reveal to them what is next. And so, when their actions are constantly justified by the voice of wisdom and they make good decisions, their functional well-being and safety are guaranteed. More so, it anticipates a joyful exuberance which is on the basis that the children who will grow to become future parents - will follow in the steps of their parents.

In the same manner, the voice of wisdom is issued to the new creation by the Spirit of Christ, who holds the greatest authority. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God (Romans 8:14 NKJV). This voice of wisdom denotes an authority of spiritual things; its activities and results are only evident in the lives of those who listen to the Holy Spirit. So in Christ Jesus, we witness a new breed of sonship, progressively fashioned in the image of this voice as they experience the Spirit-led life.

To that effect, 2nd Corinthians 3:18 reads, "So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image" (NLT). The voice of the Spirit is a light that reflects the glory of the Lord. When obeyed or acted upon, it moulds us to grow spiritually and to follow in the steps and likeness of our parental Lord, namely Jesus Christ. Stay tuned for the final part of this topic. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Proverbs 15:33; Proverbs 16:16; 1 Corinthians 3:18; Ephesians 1:17; James 3:13.

Exuberant Declaration:

I acknowledge that sound wisdom is a quenchless beacon; a good teaching radiates a glorious light, and moral discipline is a life path that sets me up in a high and advantageous position. Praise God!
