HEED THE VOICE OF WISDOM - PART 1

FRIDAY 16 MAY 2025

I'm introducing a new topic, namely "Heed the voice of wisdom." Wisdom has a voice, and it is the voice of the Holy Spirit. The Proverbial Edition informs that Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks (Proverbs 1:20-21 ESV).

However, the only ones that hear the voice are those who have embraced the influential Spirit of wisdom. For in the same street, they heed the voice of wisdom; in the same market place where wisdom raises her voice, they receive wise guidance to live a disciplined life; they would hear as she speaks, and have the ability to choose what is right and godly.

To that effect, the book of the Major prophet, known as Isaiah the son of Amoz, reads, "Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, "This is the way you should go," whether to the right or to the left" (Isaiah 30:21 NLT). In other words, wisdom says, "Now heed my voice and take the right step, for you're in good hands." Purposefully, it is a voice that searches into and explores the way very thoroughly, before ordering your steps. Got it? More below!

Reference: Proverbs 1:32-33 Common English Bible (CEB)

"For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm."

The book of Proverbs is an opus [or oeuvre] of wisdom that unveils the full dimensions of Solomonic inspired utterances in its subject matter - based on outright positive and transforming importance. These Solomonic inspired utterances, in its original form of context, are strategic decisions of exhortatory wisdom passed down from a Father to a person of childhood experience or to an inexperienced young person who is preparing to encounter a life of challenging responsibilities: family management, business dealings in the Market place, community or society-based leadership, and more.

This is why the Proverbial recipient is often addressed as "My Son..." So it is indeed, a relational wisdom furnished by a great inspiration from God's Spirit - with operational or functional significances arising from a profound place of nurturing, instructing, and guiding the next generation.

Now let my expository structure of this topic begin:

Our referenced Scripture reads:

"For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm" ~ Proverbs 1:32-33 (CEV).

Beloved, here is what is present in this versified statement: wisdom calls, and her voice is evidently clear; it says, "attend to my instructions":

"Inexperienced people perish because they reject wisdom. Stupid people are destroyed by their own lack of concern. But whoever listens to me [Wisdom] will have security. He will be safe, with no reason to be afraid."

Now watch this: Whosoever heeds the voice of Wisdom shall dwell securely and in confident trust and shall be quiet, with no reason to be afraid. In other words, practical wisdom has zero anxiety disorder such as fear or dread of evil. Got it? Why so? Wisdom preserves those who have it ~ Ecclesiastes 7:12 (NIV).

The simple or inexperienced fellows may face a strong peer pressure to follow the world's ways, especially during adolescence. Even in Christian homes, when the parents are unconsciously unconcerned, that pressure can twist those innocent young persons inside out until they cease from being solemn and confident in sound doctrine to becoming fatuous and frivolous fellows, nearly unrecognizable to their parents, on account of intrusive negativity or corrupting influences.

But when the voice of wisdom is highly indulged and practically applied, a wise mentality is imbued to take over that young man or woman, such that they could easily find themselves soaring to all attainable heights of divine insight, because there is a presence of fresh wisdom to engulf and penetrate their minds and reasonings, making them wise men and women. Stay tuned for the successive parts of this topic. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Proverbs 2:6; Proverbs 3:7; Proverbs 3:13; Proverbs 13:20.

Exuberant Declaration:

I acknowledge that divine wisdom bestows all-round well being, and with a needful sense of prudence, I function in accordance with the voices and moral habits it instils within me, which are geared toward attainment of godly progress. Glory to God!
