Reference: Ecclesiastes 3:11 New International Version (NIV)

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end."

Today's article is focused on the second segmentary differentiation, namely:

"He has also set eternity in the human heart."

With certain assurance, God has set eternity in the human heart which is the age to come.

Why did God do this? He is so mindful of man, and therefore, He did not want to abandon or end the works of His hand made in His likeness and image. Got it? He was so delighted with His workmanship, and being led by this delight, He made a decision to settle man with a "timelessness" setting which leads to eternality, and in that respect, He planted eternity in his heart - an age beyond time, such that man will have the tendency not to perish.

Now watch this: Although God has also set eternity in the human heart, the next versified segment reads: "Yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end." Why so? Natural man is systematically limited, which means that mankind can never fathom what God has placed in his heart with a natural mind and lifestyle (See also Psalm 82:7 CEV). This is the reason it only takes the Lord Jesus Christ to activate the eternity in human heart. So as born again Christians, the eternity in our hearts has come alive and therefore, we shall not perish because the life of the age to come is already active in us.

Before anything was created, this life of eternity was given us in Christ. Active eternity was ordained for us in the foreknowledge of God, and is viewed as already functional in us when we receive Christ and live the life of the Spirit. So those who functionally perceive the frame or image of eternity have been given eternal life in Christ; thus they are supreme gods moving around on earth with a life of timeless quality. Got it? To that effect, Johannine literature numbered as  1st John 5:11 (NIV) reads:

"And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son; Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life."

For the natural man who cannot fathom what God has placed in the human heart, we have them in two categories: The ones that are preordained to eternal life, and the ones that will not miss eternal damnation, in the age to come.

For both categories, we have the word used as chronos (which determines the times of their daily routine and historical analysis) and as for the ones that are preordained to eternal life, we have word, "Kairos" which will determine the "opportune time" of God's active dispensation of grace in their lives, or the most appropriate or destined time He has apointed for their salvation. And indeed, a kairos moment of a man's salvation will activate and open the portal of eternity already set in his heart by God. Stay tuned for more on eternity in part 6. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Psalm 31:14; John 3:16; John 4:14;  John 10:27-28.

Exuberant Declaration:

The glorious image of Christ is at work in me, and more importantly, He brings alive the eternity in my heart, because I'm well positioned in Him to live the life of the Spirit. Hallelujah!
