EUPHORIA & PAEAN - PART 1

MONDAY 16 OCTOBER 2023

I'm constrained by the love of God to introduce a new topic today, which is known as "Euphoria and Paean." It is an uncommon subject that is richly rewarding as we become more knowledgeable about it, and it will keep us inspired, excited, discerning, generous, and effective in the things of the Spirit, while serving God faithfully. For instance, a revelatory insight into a paean of praise, and getting practically filled with worship songs in a day - will keep the devil very far from you. More below!

Reference: Ephesians 5:19 The Voice (VOICE) "When you are filled with the Spirit, you are empowered to speak to each other in the soulful words of pious songs, hymns, and spiritual songs; to sing and make music with your hearts attuned to God."

According to dictionary, Euphoria is the experience of pleasure or excitement and intense feelings of well-being and happiness. Certain natural pastimes, spiritual tasks and social activities, such as good exercise, laughter, listening to or making music and dancing - can bring us intense pleasure that improves the body's mechanism. And as born again Christians who indulge in activities, full of positive and divine influence, listening to gospel songs or making music, as well as dancing in His presence, can induce a state of euphoria. This is why the next, important complementary word, "Paean" accompanied the theme.

Paean is a hymn sung in ancient Greece in thanksgiving to Supreme Deity. It is also any song of praise or triumph, as well as a creative work expressing a formal note of high and enthusiastic praise.

Many a time, you'll notice that in a Christian gathering or in church meetings, through hymns, and spiritual songs, full of praise and worship, we can travel far into the depth of supernatural realm, thereby familiarizing ourselves with the slopes, layers, ridges, and thickness of the divine nature, as the Spirit of God engulfs us like a powerful force, guiding us to greater heights of divine euphoria and gladness.

In such environment or atmosphere, we experience joyful exuberance that dispenses an unforgettable moment of the supernatural aura, as a result of the reality of His presence, and we sustain the experiential gratefulness which wields a lasting impression long after the "praise and worship" has ended.

Psalm 89:7 says, "The highest angelic powers stand in awe of God. He is far more awesome than all who surround His throne" (NLT). If the heavenly hosts can stand in awe of God, just think of "how much" the new creation in Christ will be captivated by His awe-inspiring and glorious presence. That's exactly where the word, "Euphoria" comes into play as it becomes the "Mount Everest" of our divine experience and expressions, when we are in awe of God, offering Him paean. At such times, we ascend to heights of unspeakable joy in His presence.

Psalm 95:1-2 reads, "O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation! Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise!" (AMPC). Beloved, the sublime nature of euphoria and paean has a powerful spiritual connotation, which I will divulge later, and therefore, the theme is an appropriate subject for divine empowerment and Kingdom results.

By His grace, I will supply valuable knowledge concerning this topic in the successive parts coming soon, and we shall indeed give God the glory for His mindfulness of instilling in us, the joy of His ever-abiding presence through praise and worship. Today, make time to bow before the mystery and sacredness of His Majesty, and stay tuned for part 2. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Genesis 30:13; Psalm 100:2; Nehemiah 8:10; Psalm 118:24.

Exuberant Declaration: I'm grateful to God, for His presence in my life which is expressive of great assurance of reverence and cheerfulness, and of godly delight and pleasure. With the enlargement of joy in my heart, the spirit of generosity and gratitude, along with a resolve to identify with God's faithfulness, always arise within me when I sing spiritual songs and make music - with every structure in my inwardness - attuned to God. Blessed be Supreme Deity!
