EUPHORIA & PAEAN - PART 8

TUESDAY 24 OCTOBER 2023

When you are expectant, you can function in high spirits and develop your flow in a state of intense excitement and joy. You'll not just be euphoric because of that good news coming soon, you'll also be able to stay focused on God by praising Him in a continual manner. Are you with me? More below!

Reference: Ephesians 5:19 The Voice (VOICE) "When you are filled with the Spirit, you are empowered to speak to each other in the soulful words of pious songs, hymns, and spiritual songs; to sing and make music with your hearts attuned to God."

I want to encourage God's own people to always worship Him in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, bringing Him a shout of praise, exaltation, glorification and extolment, as well as acknowledging His faithfulness through a speech of panegyric or encomium, which we can read out to Him by divinely-inspired faith.

Are you in any kind of troubling situation? Don't just pray and relax; raise your voice as a singer and offer praise to the LORD, acknowledging that He is good and His love and mercies endure forever. Paul and Silas were accused of throwing a city into turmoil by promoting customs that were unlawful for the Romans to adopt and practise. In the process, they were stripped and severely beaten with rods, and thrown into the prison, where a jailer put them in inner dungeon and fastened their feet in the stocks, to ensure they didn't escape. However, Acts 16:25-26 noted that "About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone's chains came loose" (NIV).

Did you notice that their miraculous encounter came as a result of their conscious decision to praise and worship God in the face of such an unfavourable situation? In times of trouble, adversity, and crisis, the sacrifice of praise is an honouring sacrifice we offer to God from the realm of conscious faith, regardless of how we feel about an existing outcome. Paean empowers us at such moments to demonstrate our utmost confidence in God, as saints who have no business with any other option or alternative but God, and this in turn, triggers His act of delivering us from any kind of trouble or mess, because of His faithfulness and great love for us, which can be trusted to an extreme degree. To that effect, Hebrews 13:15 reads, "Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess His name" (NIV).

When "engaging in paean" becomes a genuine or serious part of our Christian lifestyle, the miraculous becomes increasingly and remarkably inevitable in our lives on a regular basis. Yes, the Christian life is not designed to be a continual process of just getting by or coping with unfavourable issues and situations but a consistent experience of miraculous moments - as we master the act of acknowledging the greatness of the wonder working power of God and His awe-inspiring glory, while looking up to Him as our delight, our salvation and our deliverer.

Through the high quality effects of favour that come from singing godly melodies that are spiritually satisfying, plus hymns, and other inspired songs from the Spirit, we are bound to face any situation with the mindset of a victor, and also walk in constant victory in Christ Jesus. And we can tap into the joy of the Lord at various times of the day, by singing to God with gratitude in our hearts. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Psalm 7:17; Isaiah 35:10; 1 Chronicles 15:16; Nehemiah 11:23; Psalm 89:1; Nehemiah 12:46; Romans 15:11.

Exuberant Declaration: With all readiness, fervency, and diligence, I will continually run in the way of euphoria and paean in order to honour God on a regular basis. I therefore, testify that God's faithfulness replenishes my heart with more and more grace to delight in the great cheerfulness of acknowledging His right hand, which is made strong for me in any given situation, to keep me grounded in the path of victory and dominion over all things. Blessed be Supreme Deity!
