The referenced passage below lays before us - opportunities for various stages of divine upgrade - which seem like less familiar concepts, yet they are of great benefits to our Christian faith. By this, I mean that we may not always talk about the value of gold, silver, bronze and iron in our daily devotions to God, yet God is using them to teach His people something about exercising faith in progressive upgrade.

Reference : Isaiah 60:17 New International Version (NIV) "Instead of bronze I will bring you gold, and silver in place of iron. Instead of wood I will bring you bronze, and iron in place of stones. I will make peace your governor and well-being your ruler."

The next segments we find in the above Scripture are:

1. Silver in place of iron. 2. Bronze in place of wood. 3. Iron in place of stones.

By following the sequence in our referenced Scripture, you will notice that God is teaching us something about Himself, meaning that His plan is for us to get better and better.

Let me begin with getting your attention again to the structure of the passage:

God will bring you gold instead of bronze, silver in place of iron. Instead of wood, He will bring you bronze, and then, iron in place of stones. Genesis 13:2 reads, "Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold" (NKJV). Precious metals such as gold and silver, are tangible display of wealth, peace, prestige, and power. Beloved, hear me: Your next level is full of light, prosperity, and prestige because you are an important part of Zion's glorious future and destiny.

Over and over again - in the versified sequence, the writer points to God's greater purpose for His children in four distinct ways - gold, silver, bronze and iron, bearing in mind that every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows (James 1:17 NIV).

One sure way of delivering these upgrades is by the instrumentality of the Holy Spirit within the purpose of our life's events. He is the channel of bringing it to the saints, as we function with a sense of hope sourced from our expectations that would manifest in our next level. So in a several connected method, the author explicitly indicates God's agency of upgrade in our eventualities, which leaves room for replacement with far better, glorious and many-sided blessing in every stage we find ourselves in life.

A couple of my additional thoughts concerning this topic is that God is full of goodness, and the transcendent excellencies that are in Him are powerful in working out His plan for our good which comes with lasting good news and reliable testimonies. And through the fullness of the Spirit, attained by constant fellowship, we become inheritors and active sharers in God's best of gifts, in accordance with the glorious gospel. Stay tuned for 4. Shalom!
