Reference: John 17:10 New Living Translation (NLT)
"All who are mine belong to you, and you have given them to me, so they bring me glory."
Today's focus is on the final segment:
"So they bring me glory"
We "the saints" are a precious gift given to Christ, so that we might bring Him glory. This also implies that primarily, we are Christ's precious "gift" but there are other capabilities or spiritual aptitude that lead to a satisfactory and fulfilling relationship between us and Christ, which are considered the conditions that bring Him glory in this life.
Remember that Jesus died and was raised from the dead undefeated, and so, He does not establish the spirituality of souls that do not bring Him glory. To instantiate this verity, Jesus Christ Himself said in John 15:16, "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you" (NIV). Got it?
We were chosen and appointed so that we might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last... Mindfully, there are empirical sides of divine nature that impress the prescripts of bearing fruit, as a condition for the possible realization of Christ's glory. Hallelujah!
Bringing Christ "lasting results" of supreme glory through our lives also implies the notion that you can exert a divine influence on the world around you by the enabling power of the Spirit. So the saints can interpolate the dogma of eternity into their earthly matters, thereby transmitting the knowledge of Christ's glory as incontrovertibly true in people's lives. This also brings us to the importance and necessity of harmonizing with the Spirit of God in all spheres of life, including "our sense of reasoning", because bringing glory to God and Christ Jesus is the main character of His glorious works in us and through us.
Beloved, I belong to Christ Jesus, and I come from God, and so, I bring them glory. One of the effectual ways I do so is by putting my "devil-may-care" faith into action as the occasion demands. And to this effect, Johannine literature numbered as 1st John 5:4 reads, "For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God]" (AMP). As the most humble servant of God, I always like to give and establish the permanence of this truth in my Christian way of life, because I have been fore-ordained by God through my heaven's new birth to unfold my utmost superiority on earth by the exertions of His divine will. Are you with me?
More so, the rate of increasing solidity and force in my superiority as a precious god is "rapid" in nature, which is a thing of joy, because it heavily influences the events in my life for my own good. Praise God! Another Johannine literature numbered as 1st John 4:4 reads, "You are from God, little children, and have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world" (NET). By considering the necessity of living out this versified statement, there are only two ways to conquer anything contrary to the will of God concerning your life, and also be independent of it:
"Being conscious of Christ in you, plus cultivating and nurturing a fixed cognizant pattern of this truth in your Christian life - with sufficient conviction."
Dearly beloved, the Lord Jesus Christ is counting on the saints who can make a lifelong commitment to bring Him glory on planet earth with an impactful permanence. Stay tuned for more in part 6. Shalom!
