Reference: Psalm 98:1-2 New Living Translation (NLT)
"Sing a new song to the Lord, for He has done wonderful deeds. His right hand has won a mighty victory; His holy arm has shown His saving power! The Lord has announced His victory and has revealed His righteousness to every nation!"
Today's focus is on the versified sub-segmentation:
"The Lord has announced His victory"
How does the Lord exert His victory? He begins by promising a mighty victory, before it springs forth. Then the process of actualising the victory begins to unfold, until His right hand establishes the mighty victory in the physical world. So an announced victory spotlights the reliability of God's word, because His words are ultimately confirmed by their fulfilment in due course.
There is here a wonderful instantiation:
King Hezekiah was troubled and distressed after listening to the blasphemous speech from the king of Assyria, sent by Rabshakeh his servant, to humiliate the living God. But Hezekiah somehow knew that God won't let him get by with such talk, and so King Hezekiah sent his servants to deliver the insulting message to Prophet Isaiah. Isaiah answered Hezekiah's servant, "Give your master God's word: Don't be at all concerned about these outrageous blasphemies you've heard from the king of Assyria's field commander and his bootlicking errand boys" (2nd Kings 19:1-7 AMP).
So by the instrumentality of Prophet Isaiah, God promised assured victory to Hezekiah, after he prayed with heartfelt encomium to God, for Hezekiah took the letters from the messengers of Assyria's King Sennacherib, which were insulting to his intelligence and scornfully abusive to Almighty, Supreme Deity, and then, spread them out before the Lord and prayed by saying, "Lord God of Israel, you sit enthroned on the winged creatures. You alone are God over all the earth's kingdoms. You made both heaven and earth...Now, O Lord our God, please, save us from his hand so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know [without any doubt] that You alone, O Lord, are God" (read 2nd Kings 19:14-19 AMP).
With brief elucidation, the Lord God responded to Hezekiah's prayer through Isaiah:
"Then Isaiah, Amoz's son, sent a message to Hezekiah: 'This is what the Lord, Israel's God, says: I have heard your prayer about Assyria's King Sennacherib'" (2nd Kings 19:20 AMP).
Beloved, the Lord announced His victory and brought it to pass. Markedly and notably, as a model of rectitude, Hezekiah was a King that put his whole trust in the God of Israel. There was no king quite like him, either before or after. He held fast to God - never loosened his grip - and obeyed, in the written code, everything God had commanded Moses. And God, for his part, held fast to him through all his adventures (2nd Kings 18:5-6 AMP). Now, how does this relate to us [modern day saints]? More below!
It is crucially indispensable to be positioned in a locational advantage, namely Christ, and to always maintain your clarity about your locational features in Christ by speaking accordingly. Why so? Pauline epistolary expression numbered as 1st Corinthians 15:57 (AMP) reads:
"but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory [as conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ."
And here is a powerful consideration to keep in mind: By being mindful of God's assurance of victory through Christ alone, which comes with an overwhelming decisive importance, you can ensure that the language of His announced victory is heartily, grammatically, and meaningfully correct in your lips oftentimes, thereby conveying intended resultant effect that aligns with Christ's supremacy - in any given situation. Are you with me? Stay tuned for further enlightenment in part 7. Shalom!
Scripture Reading - Psalm 108:13; Romans 8:37; Ephesians 6:10; 1 John 5:4.
Exuberant Declaration:
My divinely-inspired victorious encounters are the substance of high-powered "present moment" Christ in me, for Christ's victory is the engine that powers my absolute dominion in the world. Praise God!
