DAVIDIC PSALMODY BY ENCOMIUM - PART 5

MONDAY 11 AUGUST 2025

Singing a new song is not internal testimony of God's goodness; it is the verbal rendering and hearing of it, which comes with the efficacy of Scriptures written in form of psalmody, hymns and spiritual songs, and flowing from the hearts of men to Supreme God. More below!

Reference: Psalm 98:1-2 New Living Translation (NLT)

"Sing a new song to the Lord, for He has done wonderful deeds. His right hand has won a mighty victory; His holy arm has shown His saving power! The Lord has announced His victory and has revealed His righteousness to every nation!"

In the previous parts of my expository structure concerning this topic, I expounded that the Almighty God is depicted with arm that carries specific symbol of His saving power. In essence, it is obviously significant that His right hand and Holy arm depict His absolute omnipotence.

Now what's the next segment in line with our referenced Scripture?

"The Lord has announced His victory and has revealed His righteousness to every nation!"

From an ideal standpoint that will result in deeper level of comprehension, I will further divide the above versified statement into 2 sub-segmental differentiations, and then shed light on each sub-segmental differentiation, for an enhanced-based clarification or enlightenment. The sub-segmentations are:

1. The Lord has announced His victory

2. And has revealed His righteousness to every nation!

The first sub-segmental statement, which will become my object of focus in the next article, is a written form of the truth that God glorifies Himself in His victory. Question: How does the Lord announce His victory? The Lord announces His victory through us. To that effect, Pauline epistolary expression numbered as 2nd Corinthians 2:14 reads:

"But thank God! He has made us His captives and continues to lead us along in Christ's triumphal procession. Now He uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume (NLT)."

Beloved, without any hesitation, the Lord God thinks of us as "highly favoured" superior captives in Christ who He triumphantly leads to manifest the victory of Christ in this world.

Functioning as "God-made" captives here doesn't imply that we are rooted in unwanted captivity, but rather God has us where He wants us, which is a perfect location known as Christ, and in that place, we are enabled to act on His will, which includes demonstrating the succession of His glorious victory. So, in accordance with 2nd Corinthians 2:14, the diction or phraseology: "And continues to lead us along in Christ's triumphal procession" denotes a continuity in the symbolism of His victorious announcements.

Additionally, God thinks of granting us the ministry of reconciliation as exuding a sweet-smelling perfume or aroma among the people we meet in our world. That's how He announces His victory, and reveals His righteousness to every nation. Got it? So we are the agents of His victorious announcements, as well as the right channel for revealing His righteousness on earth.

Again, the first is the overflow of Christ's victory, meaning that He permits the world around us to hear about His mighty victory as we continually walk in the light, and encounter situational challenges or eventual adversity, in which we are strategically positioned to win, and emerge as more than conquerors, with Spirit-influenced victorious outcomes. So our victory in Christ is not a conclusion formed by guessing, but a timeless certainty based on Christ's supremacy and ascendancy.

Then the second is the reconciliation process that leads to the conversion and salvation of the unbelievers and Gentiles which positions them to submit to the Lordship of Christ. So this is the double work of the Supreme Almighty's zeal in us and through us, and the glorious work is constantly in progress on earth.

Beloved, the Lord has announced His victory and has revealed His righteousness to every nation! Stay tuned for more in part 6. Shalom!
