"To win", in Strong's Greek term, is known as the word (nikaó), which denotes - to conquer or prevail. It is usually accompanied by awesome celebration, glorious effects and outstanding advantages, which are all as a result of our entangled oneness and peculiar union with the Lord Jesus Christ. Reference: 1 John 4:4 New Living Translation (NLT)
But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.
The next line of segment in accordance with the above referenced Scripture is:
You have already won a victory over those people.
This means that we have been favoured with ready-made victory in our Christian lives. If you overlook this truth, you'll function as a victim in life. Also be mindful that the expression clearly suggests that you have already won before any battle you'll face in life. Why? Christ's victory is yours, and the grace you receive in Christ, furnishes with the fitnesss and meetness needed for the office of perpetual victory.
To that effect, Pauline epistolary expression reads, "But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1st Corinthians 15:57 NIV). Our victory in Christ is non-negotiable. It is not open to adjustment, meaning that it cannot be modified. Why? It's because it has been firmly established on the basis of Christ's perfect sacrifice on the cross of Calvary.
Christ's resurrection gave birth to our glorious existence beyond His grave. In a nutshell, His death and resurrection are the core foundation of our Christian faith and belief system. Remove both, and all our confident hope for unquestionable victory and glorified eternity will drown or be submerged at once.
Therefore, it is by holding on to the testimony of Christ's victory that we stand firm in the day of trial and in the midst of challenging concerns, and then, win courageously. If you remain strong in the Lord and in the power of His might - in times of adversity, you'll surely experience irrefragable testimonies rooted in the firmness of Christ's victory on the cross.
Furthermore, I want you to understand that the victory you experience in your Christian life is a repetition of Christ's absolute triumph over sin, the devil and the world, and it implies the predominance and preeminence of God's might, glory and excellence. Don't be ignorant of this truth because Pauline epistolary dictates stated, "But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ's triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere" (2 Corinthians 2:14 NIV).
Admittedly, we are being used to manifest Christ's victory, and this happens when we position ourselves to stand firm on God's truth, come what may. That's how we function in continual victory, as God leads us from place to place to experience it, as though we are in a perpetual parade.
To shed additional light on this truth, we exert Christ's victory by exercising our faith in the Word, especially in the midst of trials or troubling situations. In doing so, the video of Christ's triumph begins to replay and manifest in our lives because we have demonstrated our faith in God's eternal truths applicable to such situations.
But when we misperceive a challenging circumstance, and refuse to act on the Word, as well as function with God's perspective concerning it, it is likened to resisting the video of Christ's victory from being replayed or displayed in our lives as a result of a problem with our spiritual wireless connection. Stay tuned for part 4. Shalom!
Lord God, I thank you immensely for the transcendence and manifestations of Christ's victory in my life and world, as I remain diligent and faithful in applying the Word to my life's affairs, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
