TREASURE THE WORD OF GOD CONCERNING YOU

When God gives you a word concerning any area of your life, embrace it, write it down, think through it, and confess it meditatively. When a word comes to you, through church sermons, through personal devotion or word of knowledge, don't take it for granted.

Writing it down makes you remember it easily, otherwise much of it would slip through the soft zones of your memory over time. Writing it down, re-reading it and confessing it over our lives show that we take the Lord seriously. It doesn't matter how spiritual we are, we can lose sight of what God speaks to our heart, especially when we get busy with daily activities. So write it down.

Reference: Luke 2:19 Christian Standard Bible (CSB)

'But Mary was treasuring up all these things in her heart and meditating on them.'

Mary exercised absolute faith in the words of the Lord. The exercise came from her innermost being: in her memory- she treasured up all these things she heard. She kept them in her heart and she pondered them. So she invested her memory, affection, and understanding in the things that she had heard.

Beloved, don't just hear the Word of God concerning you and let it go. Always remember what you have heard from God and what He has done for you; make your heart a golden storage for preserving the Word when you feed on them. Let your memory treasure up everything about Christ that you have believed, and then let your fond affections hold fast to His Word often.

When the Angel of the Lord came to Mary to deliver the news concerning her future, Mary responded, "Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word..." She affirmed the Word from God without doubts. God knows the future, so take Him seriously! He does not speak without a purpose; He has a plan mapped out for you. When He gives you something prophetically or gives you direction, pray it through and do not let it go until you see it come to pass.

In Isaiah 55:10-11 (NIV) God said, 'As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.'

When God gives a word, it comes with all the power to fulfill it, but you must demonstrate your faith in that word consistently and pray it through. Every Word He drops in your heart is a seed and it is filled with His DNA. It is full of His life and His creative force. No wonder Luke 1:37 (NIV) reads, 'For no word from God will ever fail.' It will surely deliver intended result.

Therefore, meditate upon what you read, hear, and receive. That's how to treasure and affirm the Word until you see it happen in your life. In Romans 4:20-21(NKJV), the Bible said concerning Abraham, 'He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.' Just like Abraham did, treasure the Word concerning you meditatively.
