THE FRUITFUL VINEYARD - PART 4

Updated: Jan 12

SATURDAY 11 JANUARY 2025

At that time you must sing about a fruitful vineyard. Why? It was all about the imminent arrival of a messianic figure, namely Christ, who succeeded in establishing His divine authority in the vineyard. More below!

Reference: Isaiah 27:2-3 Contemporary English Version (CEV)

"The Lord said: At that time you must sing about a fruitful vineyard. I, the Lord, will protect it and always keep it watered. I will guard it day and night to keep it from harm."

In today's article, we are still travelling through the tunnel of the segment:

"I, the Lord, will protect it and always keep it watered."

The Lord doesn't just watch over the fruitful vineyard, He also waters it continually.

To water is pour water over (a plant or area) in order to encourage plant growth. The Lord always keeps His vineyard watered for sustainable growth. Thankfully, we are the garden God has planted; the very work of His hands, and so He is obliged or committed to keep us protected and watered.

Watering it every moment suggests that He keeps the church in a joyful state of peace and prosperity, or in a flourishing condition, denoting that its fruitfulness is something the Lord makes happen because the church is under His care and protection. "At that time" further explains the presence of Messianic mission, which ushered in the redemption of the Lord's people, both Jews and Gentiles, by the ministry of the glorious gospel, and also led to the empowering participation of the saints in the Kingdom of Heaven and in the great commission, which came by God's grace.

God is the householder, and Christian believers are the vineyard. Their heritage is springs of living water from the throne room; so the church or the saints are constantly pruned and watered by the Vinedresser, as well as amply protected. He shepherds the Church, and waters it through the springs of living water, satisfying their soul's thirst, which is a great spiritual benefit. As for their progressive protection and victory, Jesus said, "...I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it" (Matthew 16:18 NLT). Stay tuned for part 5. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - 2 Samuel 22:3-4; Psalm 5:11; Proverbs 2:11; Psalm 119:14.

Exuberant Declaration:

I am well watered garden because Jesus, the fountain of timeless life and living water always satisfies my soul's thirst. Praise God!
