SPEAK THE WORD FAITHFULLY - PART 3

WEDNESDAY 15 FEBRUARY 2023

God wants us to focus on His Word, which is the ultimate idea in the depth of my mind as I prepared to share this topic with you. The highest form of the Christian life is lived when we fix our eyes on the Word, bearing in mind that the true Word of God is a real spiritual nourishment for the human spirit, which in turn, produces the quality life of the Spirit through us.

Reference: Jeremiah 23:28 Amplified Bible (AMP) "The prophet who has a dream may tell his dream; but he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully. What has straw in common with wheat [for nourishment]?" says the LORD.

Jeremiah 23 teaches a lot about how the wrong prophets, who were driven by the wrong motives and dreams, designed to mislead God's people and draw their attention away from God, manifested their negative influences. Instead of ministering the word of God to God's people, they were feeding them with their own dreams which were very far from the eternal truths of the Word. For this reason, God condemned such unfaithful servants, and regarded them as profane priests and lying prophets. And here is it:

"I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name. They say, 'I had a dream! I had a dream!' How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds? They think the dreams they tell one another will make my people forget my name, just as their ancestors forgot my name through Baal worship. Let the prophet who has a dream recount the dream, but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain?" declares the Lord. "Is not my word like fire," declares the Lord, "and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?" (Jeremiah 23:25-29 NIV).

To understand this narrative properly, the prophets took delight in speaking their own dreams to God's people, yet such dreams were not a true message from God because they emanated from the deceits of their own hearts. So this message from the book of Jeremiah claimed that their dreams and prophesies were not the real words from the mouth of God. This means that they spoke according to the dictates of their hearts, and speaking according to such unreliable and unverifiable evidence, which is not in line with God's truth, denotes prophetic lies.

For this reason, God is encouraging us today saying, "pay attention to my Word" and let he who has My word, speak it faithfully. For what has straw in common with wheat [for nourishment]? Beloved, by contemplating God's wisdom through His Word and by manifesting it in our lives through the spoken word, we are enlightened and made wise, as we reflect the glory of the Word. Assuredly, the true Word from God comes with a transforming power, which is thoroughly carried out by the agency of the Holy Spirit.

To actualise this truth in our own personal lives, 2nd Corinthians 3:18 says, "And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit" (AMP). As we pay attention to the true and eternal Word from God, by meditating on it and speaking it forth, we reflect the ever-increasing glory of God, and in the process, we are transformed by the Spirit in toto. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Hebrews 4:12; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Peter 4:11.

Exuberant Declaration: With unveiled face, and with the eyes of my understanding opened, I behold the Word and gain God's perspective attentively, thereby reflecting His glory from one degree to higher degree. Hallelujah!
