"But covet earnestly the best gifts:"

A lot of people confusingly interchange the gifts of the Spirit with His seven-fold nature. However, I will markedly clarify the difference in today's article. The gifts of the Spirit are entirely different from His seven-fold nature.

When it comes to His seven-fold nature, the true notion seems to be that zoe life is bigly transmitted in God's breath and speech, and therefore, intelligent and active seven Spirits are communicated through His breath as the Spirit of the Lord, and as the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD. So if you listen carefully to the thunder of His voice, and the rumbling speechification that goes out of His mouth, you'll realise that they are made of Spirit and life.

To instantiate this verity, Revelation 4:5 reads, "From the throne came flashes of lightning and [rumbling] sounds and peals of thunder. Seven lamps of fire were burning in front of the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God" (AMP). In accordance with this Scripture, did you notice that lightning, thunder and voices emerged out of the throne before the seven lamps of fire were revealed as burning before the throne? Those lightning, thunder and voices are God's breath and speech, and the intelligibility embedded in His vocabulary are His seven Spirits. Got it? In the book of Job numbered as Job 37:2-5, the Scripture revealed:

"Listen to it! Listen to His thunder, the rolling, rumbling thunder of His voice. He lets loose His lightnings from horizon to horizon, lighting up the earth from pole to pole. In their wake, the thunder echoes His voice, powerful and majestic. He lets out all the stops, He holds nothing back. No one can mistake that voice— His word thundering so wondrously, His mighty acts staggering our understanding" (MSG).

In the above versified passage, kindly mark the ending or conclusive phraseology:

"His word thundering so wondrously, His mighty acts staggering our understanding."

Now watch this: In accordance with the phraseology, after the flash comes the deafening thunder of His voice, enabling His seven Spirits to make "wonders" or do great things on earth through those who have received and allowed His seven-fold nature to find expression in their Christian walk. Got it? So the seven lamps of fire burning before the throne are the emblematic recognitions that reveal the seven-fold nature of the Holy Spirit, which is not considered as the gifts of the Spirit (see also Acts 2:3 & Matthew 3:11).

In particular, when the Holy Spirit came at Pentecost, Acts 2:3 says, "They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them" (NIV). Did you notice that the tongue appeared to them as "separated" or divided tongues, as of fire, before resting upon each of them? In other words, those tongues were divided into seven Spirits, although it was implicitly mentioned (See NKJV). The tongues of fire exuded the seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which were the seven Spirits of God resting on each of them! Got it!

Prior to this "seven-fold manifestation of the Holy Spirit" incident is the versified statement numbered as Acts 2:2, which informed that suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting before the tongues of fire appeared, and beloved, that sound from heaven was denotative of a rumbling speechification that went out of God's mouth. Are you with me?

As for our main topic concerning the gifts of the Spirit which I listed in the last article known as part 3 of this topic, child of the Most high, ensure that you earnestly covet the best gifts; Don't ever bank on your human skills or potentials; count on His ability first, and even your potentials will greatly manifest on the wings of His supernatural ability beyond any human imagination!
