OUR EXISTENCE IN GOD

SATURDAY 18 JUNE 2022

As born again Christians, our existence in God is priceless. God is a supernatural space organized for our joy, spiritual needs and pleasures. Psalm 16:11 confirms this truth: "...In your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." In a nutshell, God is the deity that exemplifies the divine credo by which we exist.

Reference: Acts 17:28 New International Version (NIV) "For in him we live and move and have our being."

As Paul stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus, he thought it necessary to reveal three important truths about our existence in God. He mentioned that in God we live (our habitation), in Him we move (our progression) and in Him we have our being (our actuality). So indeed, God is a place and a space of our true existence. This is because by the virtue of new birth, we died to this life, and our real life is now hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3 NLT).

God is absolutely divine. He is not a low-powered god, carved out a like gold or silver or stone or an image made by human design and skill. He is fully God, and from spiritual perspective, when we come to Christ and accept Him as Lord, we arrive at the higher realm where God flows and functions. It's like connecting to a special portal that grants us access to everything and everyone in the Kingdom we now belong to, and so we access and utilize all the benefits on the site. For further clarification, Hebrews 12:22-23 reads, "but ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable hosts of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect" (NASB).

Now considering the above verses in the book of Hebrews, firstly, we can fully understand the realm, secondly, the level of spiritual access we gain in the realm, and thirdly, the substance of divine entities we associate with. One of the introductions says, "We have come into the city of the living God." Simply put, we function in the city of the living God, which implies that we live, move and have our being in God's realm. Therefore, as we renew our minds with the Word, our thought patterns consciously connect to our spiritual existence in God, in a way that reveals that we are not 'ordinary' in the arena of earthly reality.

Beloved, we are in active association with divinity. Its an ongoing or habitual engagement continuing up to this present time and beyond: "In Him we live and move and have our being, not outside of Him." We live and function under the umbrella of divinity as the comrade of supreme being. Psalm 36:9 says, "For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light" (ESV). In Him, we see light because light dwells with Him. He is the true source of our spiritual vitality, the origin of our living faith and the power behind the continuance of our Christian life. As we live, move and exist in God, we reflect the image of the Godhead, which allows the world to perceive God in us. This also shows that we permanently dwell in God. He is our dwelling place and we are the living embodiment of His essence on earth. When and where we show up, God shows up. Beloved, the appearance of the godly is the ambulant expression of the Godhead.

Just imagine how delightful God is, as we, the born again Christians move and demonstrate ourselves through Him in our familiar day-to-day activities, priorities and affairs of this world. He is the vehicle that keeps us going and moving in the right direction, as well as the cover or dwelling place that provides the pedestals for our divine experiences. Moreover, we must be thankful for the truth that we can function and connect on a personal level, to things of the Spirit in the earth realm, which uncovers the real meaning of living in God and moving with His prevailing presence in our lives. Therefore, to maximize the experience, always set your minds on things above (Colossians 3:2 NIV). Shalom!
