LET THERE BE LIGHT - PART 4
THURSDAY 13 JUNE 2024

Reference: Genesis 1:3 New International Version (NIV)
And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.
Today's article is the final part of this topic, and for this reason, I want to remind you that "Let there be light" is a Spirit-led transformation that established the mind of God through His Word, namely Christ Jesus. By this I mean that creation did not start with the Word first, but by Spirit-enabled influence. To instantiate this verity, the Bible says, "Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters" (Genesis 1:2). Got it?
After the Spirit-led steady hover, a word came from God saying, "Let there be light," and there was light. Then God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness (verse 3). Why was the light so good? It was Spirit-enabled, which was a purposeful practice of remaining at one spot in the atmosphere over the water circulation, regardless of the darkness of space. So this means that when the Spirit of God is involved in a matter, expect perfection. Don't easily engage in tasks that are unoccupied by the Spirit. When you allow the process to be actualised by your Spirit-filled and inspired encounters, the end result will surely reflect the glory of God, such that it becomes irrefragable.
Beloved, the presence of the Spirit cannot be undermined. This truth was proven again in the context of Jesus' Baptism when the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus in a physical manifestation that resembled a dove. While John was preaching, Jesus came to him to be baptised, and as Jesus prayed, the heavens opened, and then the Holy Spirit came down upon Him. The Scripture reads, "Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heavens were opened, and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form, like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, "You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased" (Luke 3:21-22 ESV). Before God spoke and confirmed Jesus as His beloved Son, the Holy Spirit actively emerged, (not after God had spoken), and this order of operation mainly contributed to the reason Jesus' ministry was successfully and distinctively fulfilled on earth in line with God's perfect will and purpose for mankind.
Zero wonder apostle Paul encouraged us to always start with the Spirit. For instance, during your prayer times, starting with Spirit-influenced utterance is more beneficial, in accordance with Pauline epistolary conclusive analysis numbered as 1st Corinthians 14:14-15 which says, "For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding" (NKJV).
In summary, the Golden news is that God Himself has established both the spiritual and physical light; the physical lights are for our benefits here on earth while the Spiritual light is for eternal benefits and glory. In James 1:17, He is known as the Father of heavenly lights, while in 2nd Corinthians 4:6, He is known as the originator of spiritual light. And it reads, "For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ" (NKJV). In other words, the same God who made heavenly lights by speaking them into existence in this manner, "let there be light", is the very God who sets our hearts ablaze to shed His spiritual light on the knowledge of His glory revealed in the face of Christ Jesus. Got it?
This revelation of spiritual light in the face of Christ - is on account of Isaiah's prophecy which reads, "The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine" (Isaiah 9:2 NLT).
And today, all born again Christians have not just seen a great light, they have received the great light, and are established in the great light, which is Christ. Hallelujah!
To that effect, Matthew 4:16 reads, "the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light. And for those who lived in the land where death casts its shadow, a light has shined" (NLT), meaning that, although we were once in the domain of darkness, we are no longer there, because now, we are light in the Lord and we should live as children of light (Ephesians 5:8 NIV). Shalom!
