In this topic, God describes the ability of His cities to excel and spread abroad, which creates a language that models legendary advancement in reality, specific to born-again humankind. Another result of this crystal clear language is the consciousness of living a life full of prosperity and good success. More below!

Reference: Zechariah 1:17 New King James Version (NKJV)
"Again proclaim, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts: "My cities shall again spread out through prosperity; The LORD will again comfort Zion, And will again choose Jerusalem."'
Did you notice that in the above versified reference, it was the Lord of host Himself speaking? It wasn't an earthly king or a mere man. Let's look at it properly - Thus says the LORD of hosts: "My cities shall again spread out through prosperity."
Beloved, when God is talking about His cities, the underlying connotation I want us to grasp is that He means serious business, as a Business-minded God who wants His cities to thrive by means of prosperity and to produce unco prosperity, not "low condition" inspired mission or "limited expanse" aspirations, so to speak. And the timeless truth that God is a Supreme authority in the business of prosperity is worthy of notice. It empowers our mental space to comprehend what to expect from His business dealings; of course, His cities shall again spread out, profoundly, which is in accordance with our versified reference.
In my expository knowledge of this topic, prosperity gospel will be taught in another light, as I'm led. The synonyms for prosperity are as follows: wealth, success, abundance, profitability, financial gain, opulence, great luxury, riches, affluence, material possessions, plenty, and good fortune with ease. The nature of this prosperity is to be understood teleologically, meaning that every type of city of God has a definitive purpose that fits within a supernatural order which exerts higher proclivity for prosperity - when God is fully pleased.
In the context of this topic, what are the main cities associated with the Almighty God? They are: Zion, and then Judah [the Southern Kingdom], Israel [the Northern Kingdom], and Jerusalem [capital city of Judah] which were mentioned under the second vision that revealed four horns and four craftsmen (see Zechariah 1:19 NIV). The four horns were symbolic of high-powered Gentiles that scattered these very cities of God. And the conclusion to be drawn from the second vision is that the craftsmen that came to terrify the four horns, denotes other nations raised by God to judge the nations that scattered His cities. God's solemn promise to restore Jerusalem and the cities of Judah was an especially comforting promise, considering the adverse situation of the cities in Zechariah's day.
When did these happenings take place? After the word of the Lord came to Prophet Zechariah, Berechiah's son and Iddo's grandson, on the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month (Feb 15, 519 b.c.), which is the month of Shebat, in the second year of the reign of Darius (see Zechariah 1:7 AMP). Who is this Darius?
Darius was a Great king that ruled Persia (capital city, Persepolis) from 522-486 b.c. He sustained a vigorous pursuit as a "zeolous builder" who used paid workers for his projects instead of slaves, a concept which at that time was fanatically revolutionary.
King Darius was a blessed and gifted visionary, and an energetic king whose social and economic goals endured and greatly benefited both his subjects and future generations. He developed efficient highways, standardized coinage, military ensigns, weights and measures, and he figured out how to refine copper, silver and gold which resulted in manufacturing higher grade products. More so, he promoted human rights and encouraged religious tolerance. Stay tuned for part 3. Shalom!
Scripture Reading - Job 22:21; 2 Chronicles 26:5; Proverbs 28:25; Psalm 35:27.
