IF YOU BELONG TO CHRIST
WEDNESDAY 06 OCTOBER 2021
God called Abraham and told him in Genesis 12:2, "I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing." Shortly after this encounter with God, the blessings God pronounced on Abraham began to manifest and shape his life. Abram became very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold (see Genesis 13:2) and God's promised blessing was extended to all of his descendants as well. In Genesis 18:18, the Bible says, "Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and through him all the nations of the earth will be blessed" (NIV).

Reference: Galatians 3:29 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC) "And if you belong to Christ [are in Him Who is Abraham's Seed], then you are Abraham’s offspring and [spiritual] heirs according to promise."
To belong to Christ is to be in Christ as a place. There is something about being in Christ that changes everything. Our God is a specialist in simply being. The King James Bible rendered it, "And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." To be in Christ is a position, and a permanent one, which even the Devil or the forces of evil cannot alter. Notice that the Scripture didn't say, "If you live by Christ's commandments", It just says, if you belong to Christ, which is to be present in Him or be in Him, then a lot happens or follows. Now it tells us something about God, who is always described as the "I Am". This name is what He "be" or what He is, which can never change.
So simply put, anyone who belongs to Christ by faith is a qualified heir according to God's promise to Abraham which cannot be revoked. As a result, they have become Abraham's children and heirs according to his promise, which means, he or she automatically partakes of the realities involved. God's blessings come to us by faith, not by rules or commandment. Why? It's because Christ already paid the full price on the cross. In Matthew 5:17, Jesus said, "Don't misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose "(NLT). So Christ perfectly fulfilled all of them on the cross for all of us, who could not fulfil them.
Now all we need is to be in Christ and then through the position, we simply receive what Christ has done. Romans 8:17 says, "And if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ--if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him." How did we become God's children and His heirs? Ephesians 3:6 (NIV) says, "This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise of Christ Jesus." It was God's plan that both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News would share equally in the riches of Kingdom inheritance. Every person in Christ, whether Jew or Gentile, is part of the same body, and we all enjoy the promise of blessings because we belong to Christ Jesus.
By being in Christ, we experience an abundance of extraordinary blessings and results because of Abraham. That means, the blessing of Abraham is accessed in Christ and there is a spiritual aspect of the blessing but it's not entirely spiritual. There is also a material blessing. And in the Word, we can see these blessings more abundantly, and therefore, the joy that we belong to Christ causes us to appropriate and enjoy them to overflow. Shalom!

Exuberant Declaration: I'm a possessor of Abrahamic privileges and a partaker of untold wealth, resources and inheritance in Christ. As the true seed of Abraham and an heir of God, I have obtained precious faith through Christ and I daily exercise my faith in the Word to walk in every blessing that is ordained for me in Christ.
