GOD'S WORD IS NOT CHAINED - PART 5

MONDAY 22 MAY 2023

When Paul spoke of his gospel, he did not mean to found a new religion or gospel, but rather he meant and preached an in depth revelation knowledge of the mystery, namely Christ, a breakthrough particularly or specifically unveiled to him. What is Pauline gospel? "Remember Jesus Christ [the ever-living Lord who has] risen from the dead, [as the prophesied King] descended from David [king of Israel], according to my gospel [the good news that I preach], for that [gospel] I am suffering even to [the point of] wearing chains like a criminal; but the word of God is not chained or imprisoned!" (AMP). More below!

Reference: 2 Timothy 2:8-9 New King James Version (NKJV) "Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel, for which I suffer trouble as an evil doer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained."

Beloved, God has indeed given us all we need for godly living, which entails His wisdom and knowledge of eternal value, the Word. Therefore, as we go for the regular intake voraciously, we should equally learn to grant its abiding power in us full expression through our mouth, to ensure that it is not chained in our lives. This reminds me of one important prayer apostle Paul asked for: "As you pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may declare it clearly, as I should" (Colossians 4:3-4 BSB).

Notice that he asked for the grace to declare it clearly as he should, meaning that prayers help to deal with the Word misconceptions. Of course people can listen to the Word and still form a view or opinion that is contrary to the point or message communicated due to faulty thinking or misinterpretation that occurs in their mental understanding. Attending to such prayer point will prevent all manner of people or hearers from entertaining or speculating the wrong opinion or perspective concerning the Word. Got it?

So it is important that we also learn how to declare it clearly as we should, in order to profit by it, whether we are preaching it or applying it to our personal life's experiences. As our operational manual, it is a powerful instrument for our all-round benefits and therefore, we must spend our entire Christian life using it well under its effective capabilities (with clarity of expression). For instance, when you experience headache, how are you going to speak the Word correctly, so that it will go into action in your head as a painkiller, to address the pain-sensing nerves of the muscle in your head, including your mental sensations? Definitely, you need specific knowledge of the Word that heals and the accurate understanding of it, in order for it to penetrate your sensory faculty, otherwise, you may be the one chaining the Word.

To understand the striking truth about the Word and how it works, let's take a look at Hebrews 4:12. It reads, "For the word of God is alive, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intents of the heart"(MEV). The MSG translation says, "His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon's scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense..." What is a surgeon's scalpel? A knife, with sometimes detachable blade, used by a surgeon, or preferably a lancet, which is described as a small, broad two-edged surgical knife with a sharp-pointed blade. The Word is extremely sharper than any two-edged sword, including surgical knife or bladed instrument used for surgery, anatomical operations and dissections. It pierces even to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and able to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Did you notice that the Word is not chained in the human body? It pierces to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, meaning that when we grant it full access through our speeches, it can deal with our spirit, soul and body, as a living, active and the most skillful surgeon, and it delivers perfect surgery in the internal organs of the body, no matter the problem. Stay tuned for part 6. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Exodus 4:12; Numbers 23:12; Isaiah 51:16; 1 Corinthians 2:6-8.

Guided Prayer: Heavenly Father, I bless and glorify you for your Word today, which is quick, powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow. I'm joyful and grateful because it is a surgeon that transforms my inwardness, penetrates my mind, and filters every unseen thought that originates from my mind and intents of my heart, thereby granting me the right results, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
