THE TRUE SOURCE IS GOD - PART 1

FRIDAY 27 JANUARY 2023

Our motives about receiving anything must be drawn from a clear knowledge of the Word of truth. Faith is not all there is, when it comes to receiving from the Lord. Although faith relies on unseen objects or realities, the source of any good thing we receive must be accurately defined and acknowledged. Its just like we know that in Christ, we have all the benefits of salvation, and so exercising faith in His Word concerning any benefits, first of all, should come from our well grounded knowledge of the source.

Reference: Job 12:13 Amplified Bible (AMP) "But [only] with Him are [perfect] wisdom and might; He [alone] has [true] counsel and understanding."

Perfect wisdom and might come from God; true counsel and understanding come from God. This is why if we distrust God or refuse to acknowledge Him while showing interest in such virtues, we will not be granted the advantage. For instance, Davidic insight or perception in Psalm 145:16 (AMP), exalted and acknowledged God in this manner: You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. A second thought here is that our being able to acknowledge these treasures as coming from the Almighty Divine, guides our requests and expectations. By this, I mean that it directs us on how to ask aright, instead of asking amiss.

The Bible says, "Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow" (James 1:17 NLT). Wisdom and might, true counsel and understanding are perfect gifts from God. And whenever we take into account, the source of great virtues which is God, God Himself is well pleased. It shows that we revere and adore Him for what He can deliver in our lives. For instance, the Bible tells us, "The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Cherish her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you" (Proverbs 4:7-8 NIV). Beloved, if we can cherish, honour, embrace and promote wisdom, we must learn to do better when it comes to the overall Giver. Cherish, honour and appreciate God for all the great things He can give. He is to be exalted in His person, by recognising and asserting His proper Deity, by ascribing all divine virtues and perfections to Him, and by affirming Him as the author of precious and eternal verities.

An interest in divine wisdom and might, as well as true counsel and understanding is extremely important and necessary in our Christian lives. This is because they supply almost everything needed for godly living and good success. A soul operating without them cannot avoid stumbling. Infact, living without their manifestations in our lives means, functioning without discernment and perspicacity, without Christ-like expressions, without positive influence, and without God's goodness! Therefore, we must give heed to the sayings of Job in the referenced verse, who uttered the wordings of eternal life. Hence, our path will be divinely strategic before us, thereby positioning us to experience and keep fast hold of such divine expressions.

When we become habitual or specialise in giving God due worship and homage for His manifold gift and blessing which He is ever willing to bestow on us, it shows that we trust Him. Then, we can ask in faith and receive from Him, as our only Source. Embracing this truth and submitting to His sovereignty will grant us unlimited access to any divine gift we desire. And remember to always and earnestly desire the best gifts (1st Corinthians 12:31 NKJV). Stay tuned for part 2. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Psalm 23:1; Psalm 32:8; Philippians 4:19; Psalm 84:11.

Guided Prayer: Dear Father in heaven, I acknowledge you today as the source of every good and perfect gift. The palm of your hand is the seat of perfect wisdom and might; You alone has true counsel and understanding. My Lord, your favour upon me is instrumental in furnishing my life with the best spiritual gifts, and so, I acknowledge that my name is written on every perfect gift from heaven. Thus I receive all your wisdom, might, counsel and understanding, with your perfections stamped on them in Jesus' Name, Amen!
