FOCUS ON JESUS - PART 1

MONDAY 20 MARCH 2023

If you want to live a successful Christian life on earth, you must focus on Jesus. When you focus on Jesus, you'll embrace His Biblical teachings concerning the truth and then, start functioning from the arena of His divine ideas to the arena of living them out as your reality.

Reference: John 12:20-21 New American Standard Bible (NASB) "Now there were some Greeks among those who were going up to worship at the feast; Then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, "Sir, we wish to see Jesus.""

It matters who you want to see and encounter, when you go to the house of God. Longing to see Jesus and encountering His manifest presence will always bring eternity into the account, and if you regularly go to church, you must go there with the strong desire to meet Jesus, who is capable of transforming you with the light of His eternal glory.

The sum of it all is this: God's people, Christ is unseen, which means that we cannot behold Him with the natural eyes here on earth, and some people say that you cannot estimate or evaluate the true character of things that cannot be seen, unless they are regarded in immediate connection with the things that are seen. However, to the contrary, we should understand that God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth (John 4:24 NIV), and He has defined His true character in His Word. So we must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV).

Many people are blinded, and so, they can't see or experience Jesus in their lives, no matter the church or where they worship. This is because, they've not really given and committed their lives to Christ Jesus by receiving genuine salvation. How can someone give his life to Christ? By exercising a true belief in Him and His finished work on the cross, thereby receiving Him as Lord, which leads to realising and possessing the presence of the Father, as manifested in the person of the Christ. This is the sense in which anyone becomes born again and begins to walk with God.

Our referenced Scripture specifically noted that some "Greeks" were among those who had come up to worship at the festival. Then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and made a request: "Sir, we desire to see Jesus." In another way, it wasn't everyone that came to worship at the feast desired to see Jesus. Got it? Beloved, I know that John the Evangelist said, "Dear friends, we are already God's children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is" (1 John 3:2 NLT). Moreover, we are called live like Him here on earth, and so, beyond our likeness to Christ through our new birth, we must get to know everything about His life here on earth through the eternal Word and our communion with the Godhead, so we can live as He is.

As Christians, the full knowledge of Christ and Himself as the revelation of Kingdom of heaven, should be our utmost desire on earth. And it is only possible when we set our eyes, thoughts and desires on things that are above because the Bible says, "Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God's right hand" (Colossians 1:3 NLT). That way, we find ourselves at home in the tremendous realm of the supernatural, functioning accordingly. Stay tuned for part 2. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Matthew 16:16; John 3:16; John 3:36; John 14:6; Revelation 1:1.

Guided Prayer: Dear Father in heaven, I thank you for opening my inner eyes through the Word, to always see Jesus as He is, and to function accordingly. I believe that what the Lord Jesus teaches in the Holy Scripture is the reality of your Fatherhood as a living power, ever present with me. Therefore, I worship you today and always as a child of light, and of the day, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
