DEEPENING YOUR SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING - PART 7

FRIDAY 24 OCTOBER 2025

I delight in speaking in tongues; I delight in prophesy, in visions, and in the concepts of divine revelation; I delight in divine wisdom and I delight in spiritual understanding, which are all present in the manifestation of God's Spirit.

More so, they are all embedded part of the larger and inclusive meaning of the complete knowledge of God's will. Notice my use of "delight" which is indicative of my joyful yielding to Spirit-led transmissions, contrasting with mere necessity.

To that effect, Pauline epistolary expression numbered as Colossians 1:9 reads, "For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives" (NLT).

In addition, I delight in Kingdom exploits; I believe in miraculous wonders and mighty works; I delight in gifts of healing; I delight in interpretation of tongues; I delight in deepening our spiritual understanding. And I like to hear about a Christian being endowed with spiritual gifts and exerting them in accordance with the knowledge of Biblical truths. More below!

Reference: Isaiah 42:20-21 GOD'S WORD® Translation (GW)

"Seeing many things, but you do not observe; Opening the ears, but He does not hear. The LORD is pleased because He does what is right. He praises the greatness of His teachings and makes them glorious."

Today's focus is still on the segmentary statement:

"Opening the ears, but He does not hear."

James 1:19 reads, "You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear/ be quick to listen..." (NASB/NIV).

An individual could receive divine revelation and inspiration with open ears, but did they hear and listen? If they did, will they remember? If they will remember, for how long?

The concept of auricular and hearty remembrance is God's perfect will for you and its central to the practical application of your spiritual understanding in your faith walk. The Lord Jesus said, "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you" (John 14:26 ESV). Did you notice that manifold dimensions of truth were said or declared to them by the Lord? Opening the ears, but did they hear? If they heard, the Lord knew that they still needed to be reminded, meaning that attentive hearing and retentive memory are of paramount importance.

To that effect, the Holy Spirit's role is to uncloud and bring to your remembrance all that have been said to you, which you heard clearly and sometimes unclearly. So the capacity to properly absorb or assimilate the detailed explication of spiritual realities, as well as remember them with a retentive memory - can happen by the empowering influence of the Spirit. He will not only clarify or enlighten you, He will also clear your mind of obscurity, gloom, or visionless concerns.

Moreover, without much effort, to make the hearing/listening great and glorious, write down the revelatory insights by any possible and available means, because it shows or reflects a deep, personal commitment to gaining such a spiritual illumination and comprehension. That way, the insightful information is not just adequately stored, but can be readily accessed and applied. Stay tuned for part 8. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Isaiah 30:21; Psalm 29:3; Mark 4:24; John 16:13.

Exuberant Declaration:

I am truly grateful to God that I have received the Spirit of Christ. Hence, I have the comfortable comfort and privileges of having a Comforter who speaks and teaches me the Kingdom mysteries, thereby progressively unveiling to me, the revelatory insights which are sealed in Christ. Hallelujah!
