CHRIST IS YOUR REAL LIFE

One of the most important things in life is security and protection. Since the beginning of time, man has been built to erect structures that provide defensive measures and protection against dangers of life, which is great. However in Christ Jesus, we have a quality life that is hidden and fortified in God, which guards and protects us from evil and danger. This is because we have no life of our own; we live daily by faith in the Son of God.

Reference: Colossians 3:3-4 New Living Translation (NLT) ' For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.'

To die to this life is to be crucified with Christ and to have His life replace our old sinful nature. It also means, 'to be alive to God.' To explain further, Christ was crucified for our sin and by that, His death paid for our sin. In that way, we are crucified with Him, and our sin with Him on the cross. That sinful "you" died, and was replaced by the life of resurrected Christ. So apostle Paul expands on this great truth in the above verses powerfully.

Understand this, when you become born again, your new life is the life of Christ. Your old life is completely dead in Christ because you were crucified with Him (Galatians 2:20 NIV). No wonder the Bible tells us this: 'Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature' (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV). In Christ we've been created anew. We no longer have a life of our own. This means that Christ is not the number one in your life; He is your life because you no longer have a life of your own. That's why our referenced Scripture says, 'For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God' (Colossians 3:3 NLT).

Christ did not just give you life; Christ is the life you live now. So Christ is our life. We've become one with Christ because we died with Him and when God raised Him up, we were raised together with Him. Having been raised with Him, He now lives in us. So Paul continues to highlight Christ as the source or the very life of every born again Christian. This is the truth: not only that the life we live is Christ's, but also this life is hidden with Christ in God. This gives us an absolute sense of protection in an uncertain world.

Think about it: what greater security can there be than a hidden life in God, who is above all things? He is the Almighty, who is all wise, all powerful and all loving. This life hidden in God, comes with automatic security and protection which powerfully guard from evil and corrupting influences of this world. This life provides refuge from sin, guilt, condemnation and the accusing finger of Satan and his cohorts! Beloved, there's no better security than a life being hidden with Christ in God.

Exuberant Declaration: I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loves me and gave Himself for me. I'm alive to God; I'm a partaker of His divine nature and my protection is forever guaranteed in Christ Jesus. Everyday, I walk in safety and I'm divine protected anywhere in this world for in Christ I live, move and have my being. Therefore, none of my steps shall slide and no weapon formed against me shall prosper. Hallelujah!
