A GENEROUS MAN - PART 5
MONDAY 23 DECEMBER 2024
A generous person who genuinely loves God - serves as an attestation of God's faithfulness on earth. More below!

Reference: Isaiah 32:8 New King James Version (NKJV)
"But a generous man devises generous things, And by generosity he shall stand."
To devise generous things involves a conscious effort of transmitting such a thought in the mind realm with the intent to act upon it. So the implication based on our versified reference suggests that a generous person does not stand by intended generosity, but by applied generosity, which denotes a generosity-inspired longing acted upon in reality. Got it?
Practising Kingdom generosity is a function of God-given identity. A godly person with a generous heart, who often entertains open-handed expressiveness lingering at the forefront of their thought pattern, and actively obeys God through their munificent-related actions, has a fixed inward awareness of an ongoing acknowledgment of such God-given identity. So their identity and corresponding actions are rooted in their personal walk with God who has chosen them, meaning that any ability or strength they expend to achieve the functionality of a successful generosity and its established course is a direct gift from God.
To instantiate this verity, Genesis 18:18 reads, "For Abraham will certainly become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed through him" (NLT). In another version of this versified statement, God said to Abraham, "I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others" (Genesis 12:2 NLT). Did you notice the "order of mention" strategy in the second instantiated verse? It is a great reminder that human endeavour alone is insufficient without divine empowerment.
This acknowledgment of God as the empowering source of Abraham's greatness, blessing and ability was crucial for maintaining dependence on God, as well as positioning him to function as a blessing to others. This equally implies that the perception of being "great, blessed and wealthy" is not an end in itself but a means to fulfil God's purpose of being a blessing to those in your world, and living in accordance with His will.
Genesis 22:18 reads, "In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice" (NKJV). So it was God Himself that blessed Abraham and gave Him power to prosper and become a huge blessing, although within his family, his wife encountered the problem of barrenness.
Therefore bear in mind that a generous person is not someone who doesn't encounter a problematic issue, impermanent trial or challenging situation. Sometimes, people may even shut up the womb of their generosity against such personality, yet, with God, a generous man gloriously experiences incredible goodness and sudden mercy.
To that effect, Pauline epistolary expression numbered as Galatians 6:9 reads, "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not" (KJV). This versified statement should always be a great comfort to all saints, who obey God and do right by generosity-inspired decorum, whether by contrived hankering or by spontaneous actions.
A godly mind, full of generosity-inspired devises, more so, acknowledges that true generosity stems from understanding the related foundational truths found in the written Word of God. So let us not allow ourselves to get fatigued in cogitating on the Word and applying it, in terms of doing good - with ardent alacrity, which is in accordance with God's perfect will, for at the right time we will harvest a good crop if we do not give up, or quit.
The New Living Translation of Psalm 34:9 reads, "Fear the LORD, you His godly people, for those who fear Him will have all they need" (NLT). Plainly seen in this versified statement is the notion that God deals wisely and well with all that fear Him and action His bidding; His loving-kindness is precious to such saints. Stay tuned for part 6. Shalom!
