YOUR VICTORY OVER EVIL WORLD

TUESDAY 05 MARCH 2024

The Bible tells us that as Christians, we can manifest and enjoy our already guaranteed victory over the enemy and the evil world. However our victory can only come through faith in Christ. Though victory is always possible, we cannot walk in it fully, if we fail to do our part. Therefore, the need to discover how our victory over the Devil can be achieved persistently in our personal life and in our world, is paramount.

Reference: 1 John 5:4 New Living Translation (NLT)

"For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith."

Every child of God has been given the ability to walk in absolute victory and to keep the devil where he belongs - a "defeat mode." According to our referenced Scripture, in this evil world, we achieve this victory through our faith. Our faith in what? Our faith in the finished work of Christ. In other words, our victory is on going. It's a continuous process because being born of God (born again) implies that we've been positioned to defeat evil and we achieve it through faith, as we walk by and exercise our faith.

I want us to pay apt attention to the coordinate Clause which is the latter part of our referenced Scripture: "And we achieve this victory through our faith." To "achieve this victory" simply means, "to establish" it in our sphere of activities. Already, Christ has given it to you. All you need is to establish it in the areas you need it in your life- by exercising your faith. To that effect, Pauline epistolary expression reads, "No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us" (Romans 8:37 NLT).

Jesus demonstrated tremendous power and unquestionable victory over the evil one and the atrocious or contrary power he wields. And He always exercised it when he walked the earth. We see His victory hugely demonstrated, when He defeated the devil with the written Word (verbalised as an authority that executed the action of His victory) during the temptation in the wilderness. And he did so in every encounter during His lifetime and ministry here on earth.

Purposefully, Jesus came to earth to destroy all the evil works of the devil, by dying on the cross (see 1 John 3:8 NLT), and He was victorious all the way. In a most glorious way, Jesus defeated Satan in the area of his greatest power - death. Colossians 2:14-15 (NIV) says, 'And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.' And you know what? Christ did it all for us. Then He gave us the victory.

Everyday is our turn to demonstrate the same victory Jesus did here on earth because we function in a world where evil still rages on. But the Golden news is that the outcome has already been decided in our favour, because Jesus' victory is ours since 2000 years ago. So whenever you are faced or confronted with the evil works of the enemy or negative forces of this present world, exercise your faith in Christ's overwhelming triumph because your faith, when put to work, will surely and swiftly establish the predominance of this victory given to you in Christ (see 2 Corinthians 2:14 GOD'S WORD Translation).

For instance, if you experience sickness in any part of your body, first of all, acknowledge the truth that by the stripes of Jesus, your healing is already a settled matter (see 1 Peter 2:24 KJV). Therefore, understand that sickness has no right to keep you down or bound. Then, begin to locate and declare what the Word says concerning your healing and health, and also act accordingly. That's the accurate way to exercise your faith in the finished work of Christ, and establish your victory in the area of your health. When you do so, believe in what you've declared and watch it come to pass. That means, (paraphrasing Ephesians 6:10), be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power to fulfil His Word concerning your health. Shalom!

Exuberant Declaration:

I joyfully thank God today, and honour Him for His grace that saved me and gave me perpetual victory in Christ Jesus. The Spirit of God that dwells in me, empowers me to exercise my faith in Christ by  functioning in victory over the devil and world. My faith in Christ is the shield that quenches the fiery darts of the enemy against any area of my life. It is my precious possession that establishes me as a victor, an overcomer, a winner, and more than a conqueror in my world - today and always. Glory to God!
