YOUR INHERITANCE - PART 10

WEDNESDAY 31 JULY 2024

In this final article based on this topic, I will throw light on few of God's promises which convey a Christian's inheritance in Christ. And it's important to fully understand that belonging to Christ implies that you are a supreme god on earth. Hence, all the inheritance which God gave to Abraham through a promise equally belongs to you as a god.

So I can rightly say that on the basis of eternal covenant with Abraham, God made His promises to gods like myself, and the fulfilment of the demands of the promise was carried out in Christ in an overwhelming "triumphal" manner, by reason of sacrificial death on the cross, and for this reason, the gods are supremely special and blessed. Simply put, the inheritance was fully and rightly granted to the gods after the death of Jesus.

Reference: Galatians 3:18 New International Version (NIV)

"For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise; but God in His grace gave it to Abraham through a promise."

God's promises in Christ are not a universal offer, as many tend to believe. This is because not all people on earth are Abraham's seed, and this should get your attention, if you are not considered so.

In the New Testament, only the born again Christians in Jesus Christ are referred to as God's own precious and peculiar children, and this timeless truth is clearly stated in John 1:12-13, which reads, "...To all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God, children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God" (NIV). And if you are born of God, you are a supreme god, just like my precious self.

Notably, the inheritance in the Kingdom of light is founded upon God's eternal decree, meaning that the promise was based on His spoken words. This is the reason we must learn to verbalise the promises at will, and that's the special thing about our inheritance in Christ. While it took the death of Christ for us to be rightly positioned to acquire the inheritance, His resurrection, as well as His present life in the heavenly realms, denote that we are bound to experience the eternal tranche or superior part of the inheritance throughout eternity - when He returns.

Now watch this: The very first inheritance we obtained in Christ Jesus on account of His death and resurrection is His indisputable victory over sin, over the world and over spiritual death. To that effect, we inherited His victory and, till this very moment, we manifest on earth as the very archetype of His glorious triumph. To that effect, Pauline epistolary expression reads, "But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ's victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere" (2 Corinthians 2:14 AMPC). Have you ever pondered the magnitude of this verity? It is emblematic of the very fixed cognizance overflowing within me that God always leads me in triumph in Christ, come what may!

Beloved, due to this assimilated assurance, if I ever find myself in any given situation, I notice oftentimes that I just relax with unruffled style of confidence and prefigure my undeniable victory because of my high-powered superiority in Christ Jesus, which is rooted in affirming my utmost reliance on the ultimate perfection of Christ's victory constantly exerted in my life and world as my significant supernatural experiences. As a god, indeed, it is not my fault; it is the conditioning influence of the mystery, namely Christ. Who is this Christ? The sole mediator of the new covenant, very ardent and extremely assured in His intercessory prayers on behalf of the gods in earthen vessels. Hallelujah!

Another important indicator of my inheritance in Christ which grants me a pre-eminent approach in all things pertaining my Christian life on earth is the fulfilment of the promised Holy Spirit who is indissolubly resident in me. It is the very accomplishment of the promise expressed through the wordings of Prophet Ezekiel in the book of Ezekiel chapter 36, verses 26-27 which reads, "...I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you...And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules" (ESV).

This promise which God has fulfilled in us through the Lord Jesus Christ entails: a new heart - which is a result of the recreated human spirit, and the Spirit of God, which He has promised that His presence will abide in us till the end of this age. The presence of the Spirit assures a plentiful and fruitful harvest of all comfort and inheritance in Christ. And this certainty is the caption of the leading truth in my Christian walk, which implies that His power, which has made me a puissant god, gushes forth from within my inner man for my effective and victorious Christian life.

To that effect, Ephesians 1:13-14 reveals that we also were included in Christ when we heard the message of truth, the gospel of our salvation. When we believed, we were marked in Christ with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of His glory" (NIV).

So as the gods, we are sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is our main inheritance, and through Him we "obtain all other inheritance" in Christ, both perishable (earthly) and imperishable (eternal), because He is the guarantee of overall inheritance until we acquire possession of all of them, to the praise of God's glory. To continue my exposition on claiming our inheritance in Christ, I will introduce a new topic promptly. Shalom!

Scripture Reading  - Lamentation 3:24; Ephesians 1:18; Colossians 3:23-24; Hebrews 9:15-16.

Exuberant Declaration:

I'm manifestly enriched by God's promises which I profess in accordance with the fulfilment of all my plethora inheritance in Christ Jesus. Praise God!
