YOU HAVE BEEN APPOINTED TO SHINE - PART 3

THURSDAY 24 NOVEMBER 2022

This important topic is designed by myself (through divine inspiration) to transform your mind and convert your mentality by establishing God's perspective in your thought realm, so you can adopt His language and perception in all its fullness, which is descriptive of genuine and lasting transformation. You will also acknowledge the truth that we've been called to shine brightly in our world because we've been transferred from a state of night and domain of darkness in which our mind was darkened, to a glorious Kingdom of light.

Reference: Jeremiah 31:35 New International Version (NIV) "This is what the LORD says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— the LORD Almighty is His name."

If God appoints the sun to shine by day, it implies that day light is extremely necessary and we are likened to it because we belong to the day. To this effect, Isaiah 60:1-3 (NET) reads, "Arise! Shine! For your light arrives! The splendor of the Lord shines on you! For, look, darkness covers the earth and deep darkness covers the nations, but the Lord shines on you; his splendor appears over you. Nations come to your light, kings to your bright light" (NET).

Why arise? It's because night has gone. Apparently, we're not aware of ourselves and our surroundings when we're asleep. And that mostly happens during the night. Also bear in mind that this Scripture is making reference to the future glory of Zion, and guess what! In Christ Jesus, we are the present and future Zion. So spiritually speaking, it is informing us to wake up because our light is now evident in the day and its our splendour.

Now watch this: Nations come to your light, kings to your bright light. In other words, they read us a great deal more than they read the Bible. Nations represent the world and interestingly, the world grasps its knowledge of God, most of all, from those who say they belong to God's family. Are you getting it now? They only hear about Jesus Christ, but now they see your light as a confirmation.

Also notice the difference between nation's response and king's response: Nations come to your light but Kings respond to your bright light. This is why this Scripture (1 Peter 2:9), sourced from Petrine epistolary expression, is of paramount importance. It actually reads, "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light" (NIV). Did you grasp the fact that Peter didn't miss the reality that we became chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and Gods special possession because of where we've been positioned? That is, Kingdom of light.

If you say that you are a royal priesthood, a chosen nation and God's very possession and you live it out, then kings will start taking notice to the point of coming to your bright light because the Scripture is a spiritual code for bright light. Got it? So you must establish a personal relationship with this very Scripture (1 Peter 2:9) until it forms or becomes part of your thought pattern and daily life. Royal priesthood is a ruling or reigning mentality that can be expressed in us and through us and it activates in our system, the likeness and superiority of Christ, to whom we belong. No wonder apostle Paul compared how death reigned through Adamic nature, to the superior reign of Christ in our lives. In conclusion, he said: How much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17 ESV). Notice the term, "reign in life." Got it? Glory to God!

Always remember that "bright light" perfectly stamps the reign of Christ upon our characters. Therefore, if you don't regularly personalise it and live accordingly, you'll miss the bright light. In addition to this reality, I want you to understand that there is a huge difference between us, shining like the sunshine and as stars. Therefore, stay tuned for part 4 because I'm going to discuss our role as shining stars, according to our referenced Scripture. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Psalm 18:28; John 1:5; Matthew 4:16; John 9:5.

Guided Prayer: Dear Father in heaven, I thank you for the great change which has been introduced into my mentality and produced in my life by the knowledge of your truth as revealed in the gospel. In regard to this, I shine as bright light in my world and those who are in the state characterized by night and darkness, continually come to my light and kings to my bright light, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
