THE WORDS OF MY MOUTH - PART 5

WEDNESDAY 18 SEPTEMBER 2024

No matter the circumstance you encounter in life, you can experience a carefully constructed world with the words of your mouth, instead of being adrift in an ocean of uncertainty.

In a nutshell, no negativity of life can be considered weighty enough to sweep a man or a woman who has gained a fixed comprehension of what I've just said - into being at the mercy of challenging issues of life. More below!

Reference: Deuteronomy 32:1-3 New International Version (NIV)

"Listen, you heavens, and I will speak; hear, you earth, the words of my mouth. Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!"

According to Solomonic inspired utterance numbered as Proverbs 12:14 (NKJV), a man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, meaning that articulated wise words bring many benefits. Question: What kind of words did Moses often speak? Let us examine Deuteronomy 30:19, where he declared, "This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live" (NIV).

Who is this very Moses that spoke with so much authentic and roaring authority? Instead of just imagining the heroic or superhuman boldness exuded in such worded authority, let us also consider or explore the textual analysis of his "speechification" from one utterance to another:

This day:

Meaning - In daylight!

I call the heavens and the earth:

Meaning - He summoned his all-encompassing audiences as witnesses.

That I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses:

Meaning - He presented these four realities and possibilities directly in front of the Israelites.

Now choose life, so that you and your children may live:

Meaning - He offered them the right choice and authoritatively informed them to speak and live in a manner conforming with it.

With the way Mosaic verbalized acknowledgement is analytically layered above, we can acknowledge that indeed, there is power of profound and "possible influences" in the words of mouth, depending on the awareness and vocal intensity of the speaker. Although Moses was the meekest man on earth, in accordance with Numbers 12:3 (KJV), his speeches weren't mild-mannered. He understood the power of tongues, and so, he properly exercised it to address the issues of life.

Beloved, practise exerting your divine authority over the matters pertaining your life and world, bearing in mind that the power of your words is limitless in the Lord. Use your words rightly to choose life, so that you and your household may live. As you make up your mind to always take control of your life by speaking over the creation or situations, in accordance with the Word of God, notable transformations and the lasting effects of God's blessings and favour will never depart from you.

Stay tuned for the expository knowledge of the next segment in our versified reference. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Proverbs 18:21; Luke 6:45; Hebrews 1:3; James 3:4-6.

Exuberant Declaration:

The words of my mouth and the cogitations of my heart are acceptable in God's sight and they abound in fruitfulness. The more I speak words full of Spirit and life, the more I experience rewarding results with peace in my life. Hallelujah!
