THE VOICE OF GLAD TIDINGS - PART 1

WEDNESDAY 25 SEPTEMBER 2024

I'm introducing a new topic known as "The voice of glad tidings." This means that the voice of the Lord will be increasingly gracious to you, as you pay apt attention to the expository knowledge of this topic from start to finish. More below!

Reference: Isaiah 30:21 The Voice (Voice)

"Your ears will hear sweet words behind you: 'Go this way. There is your path; this is how you should go' whenever you must decide whether to turn to the right or the left."

This sweet and desirable communication behind you - is an important aspect or quality of your Christian life, symbolizing God's influential presence, accurate guidance, and unfailing direction. Considering the context of the above versified reference, the community of Israeli descent left the way, turned aside from the right path, and embraced the prevailing cultural standards, thereby saying, "let us hear no more about the Holy One of Israel." Yet the Holy One of Israel said to them, "Return to your rest for the LORD will be gracious to you. In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength." But they were unwilling to do so.

Although they were adamant, God's superior mercy interrupted, overruled, overthrew, displaced and prevailed over their immoral decision and unprincipled-throbbing problem. To that effect, let's consider God's behavioural response in the book of Isaiah based on the contextual cognizance stated below:

"Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore He exalts Himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him. For a people shall dwell in Zion, in Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers you. And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of distress, yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it," when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. Then you will defile your carved idols overlaid with silver and your gold-plated metal images. You will scatter them as unclean things. You will say to them, "Be gone!" (Isaiah 30: 18-22 ESV).

I believe that the above versified passage is self-explanatory. On account of God's gracious influence, a divine intervention and calmness had set in, and by it - is the power to establish His good thoughts and unfaltering compassion in their lives, by giving them the right direction for their beneficial purpose, marked with proclivity for righteous living. In a similar way, this also aligns with what God did for us in Christ Jesus. The Bible says, "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8 NIV).

By observing and assimilating the conveyed timing and nature of God's demonstrated love in the book of Romans 5:8, you'll notice that the unreserved character of forgiveness which God displayed on behalf of Israeli descent that went astray, and that of those now saved in Christ are interconnected, which can also be explained as a reference to the summarised entirety of God's unmerited grace to mankind.

Into the bargain, in Pauline pastoral epistolary expression to Titus, he stated:

"At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit" (Titus 3:3-5 NIV). Now that I'm found in Christ, this can account for the persistence of His unconditional love and outright mercy continually demonstrated through the gracious voice of the Spirit.

Admittedly, as a precious god functioning in earthen vessel, I'm destined to be the head over all creation with the Lord Jesus Christ, for as He is, so am I in this present world (1st John 4:17 KJ21). Hence, the amplitude of my auditory perception is conditioned to pick up sweet words from a teacher, not just behind me, both also within the walls of my spirit; a voice that serves as light unto my path, and is emblematic of divine counsel and direction. Stay tuned for the successive parts of this wonderful topic. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Psalm 85:5; Psalm 119:105; John 10:16; John 10:27.

Guided Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I'm forever grateful for the sound of your voice that speaks far better things on my behalf than all the voices that have gone out into the earth, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
