THE MOST IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

God's plan and purpose for the whole world was expressed through His only beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. In other words, God's will is - Christ expressed and announced in our world. Jesus is the manifestation and fulfilment of God's will on earth and John the Baptist made the announcement in his time.

Reference: Mark 1:7 ►New Living Translation (NLT)

'John announced: "Someone is coming soon who is greater than I am- so much greater that I'm not even worthy to stoop down like a slave and untie the straps of his sandals."'

In the days of John the Baptist, 'he preached in the wilderness of Judea saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near." This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: A voice of one calling in the wilderness, Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.'

Everything about John was defined by his mission - to prepare the way for the Lord. How could he live his whole life for someone else? He could do it because he knew God's will for his life and so, he embraced the purpose and fulfilled it, as clearly spelt out for him.

In Christ, we've been given similar purpose - When we accept Jesus into our lives, He comes in to define our purpose - which is to live for Him. No wonder Paul, the apostle said, 'I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me' (Galatians 2:20 NIV). That's exactly what it means to call Jesus - my Lord.

The greatest way to live for Christ is to introduce Him in your world as the true Son of God and the Saviour of the world. Just like John the Baptist prepared the way for His first coming, we must announce His soon return. For such blessings of salvation He brought to us, we offer Him our lives in service to Him and the Kingdom of God, by announcing His coming. It is the most important announcement in today's world. For Paul, he said, 'necessity is laid upon me' to preach and announce it' (1 Corinthians 9:16 NKJV). And Just for the record, who are we sent to announce? Christ, the soon coming King! He is the King of kings, and the Lord of Lords. He is the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End, and He is coming again (Revelation 22:12-13 NLT).

This is a divine announcement that signals the biggest event of all time - the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to this earth. That is what our lives must be about: the announcement of Christ's coming. Revelation 3:20 (NIV) reads, 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.' We must let the unsaved in our world know that Christ is knocking at the door of their hearts, and persuade them to let Him come in, so they can dine and live together with Him for eternity.

Beloved, its real! Jesus is coming with the clouds, and "every eye will see him, even those who pierced him"; and all peoples on earth "will mourn because of him." So shall it be! Amen (Revelation 1:7 NIV).

Scripture Reading - John 3:16-18; John 14:6; Acts 4:11-12; Romans 10:9-10.

Exuberant Declaration:

I belong to Christ and the Kingdom of God; His desire is for me and my desire is for Him. In my world, I enjoy the glorious presence and victory of Christ, as I live to announce His soon return. Blessed be God!
