God watches over the feet of His godly ones, by manifesting Himself as a sovereign guard. It is one of the most important role the Lord has taken upon Himself on behalf of the saints, which is on account of His "Almighty" importance, rooted in His identifiable supremacy. More below!
Reference: 1 Samuel 2:9 New King James Version (NKJV)
"He will guard the feet of His saints, But the wicked shall be silent in darkness. For by strength no man shall prevail."
Indeed, the the Lord makes firm the steps of the righteous who delight in Him, because He guards their feet, but this is not so for the wicked. To that effect, Solomonic inspired utterance reads, "The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble" (Proverbs 4:18-19 NIV). When I cogitated on this specific revelation, "The pathway of the saints is as a morning sun", what came to mind is that our path is likened to a shining light that brings the vision of possibilities, which includes God-minded realities, and many powerful understandings.
Isaiah 52:7 reads, "How beautiful and delightful on the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who announces peace, Who brings good news of good [things], Who announces salvation, Who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"' (AMP). In other words, in my feet, there is a mystery. It is a feet purified or made sacred through salvation, and the mind of God towards my feet is pure unconditional love, with an admixture of beauty and great delight. So it is a feet on which the hopes and peace of the lost are centered. Got it?
What a privilege is it to be involved in such mission, beyond just enjoying being guarded, defended and fortified by the Lord Himself! By this I mean that since God is always willing to be reconciled to the lost, your feet are a helpful vehicle, denoting that you function in the greater reality or dimension of your steps being ordered by the LORD, by announcing His salvation to the lost and contributing to the spiritual well-being of others.
In my conclusive statement, guarding the feet of the saints also implies divine protection. Psalm 91:11-12 reads, "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone" (NIV). It is the Lord that keeps the saints; He secures them, such that neither the wicked nor negative influences, nor evil-inspired weapon ever formed by the enemy shall touch them. God protects His own from all the assaults of the enemy, and supplies them with all their essential provisions - by His Spirit and His grace. Shalom!
Heavenly Father, I'm grateful for the guarded feet of the saints, which you make evident like a divine force with so much earthly relevance, and I thankfully acknowledge that your guarding influence in my life is continually translated and manifested in form of divine health, peace and prosperity, godly impartation and inspiration, divine provision and preeminent abundance, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
