WHEN GOD EXERCISED HIS WILL - PART 4

MONDAY 27 FEBRUARY 2023

Today I'm going to consider sharing the end results of the will of God, having exercised it on our behalf.

Reference: James 1:18 New American Standard Bible (NASB) "In the exercise of His will He gave us birth by the Word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures."

God willed to give us birth through the Word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of all He created. So James is simply telling us that the Godhead in His counsel, assembled to create superhumans in Christ, for the first time ever in human history, thereby setting in motion a new creation, which has become a kind of first fruits of all He created. This implies that we are unique and exceptionally different. What makes us superhumans? The precious Holy Spirit in us. Zero wonder the Bible says in 1st Corinthians 6:19-20 (NIV): "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honour God with your bodies."

When God says that everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world, it is due to a "ready-made" exercised will of God in Christ Jesus. In other words, His exercised will has results and those results are the reasons He called and chose us in Christ. To that effect, Romans 8:28 (NIV) says, "And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. Which purpose? According to the purpose and design of His will. All things work together for our good because we fit into His plan; having been fashioned according to His design and purpose.

Here are two important information we must lay hold of, from my exposition based on this topic: Firstly, God doesn't make mistake in exercising His will. To that effect, Job replied to the Lord saying, "I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted" (Job 42:2 NIV). Secondly, by exercising and exerting His perfect will, God brought forth vast collection of Kingdom realities with manifold benefits, which are designed for us to live by. Hence, there are multiple or various Scriptures that are oriented in direct view of this verity. Zero wonder Proverbs 16:4 says, "The LORD works out everything to its proper end" (NIV).

For instance, 1st John 5:4 (ESV) reads, "For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith." Beloved, I urge you to sit down in a corner and ponder this Scripture because the content is noteworthy and king-size in degree. Question: How did God exercise this perfect will that made every born again Christian, a world overcomer? By sending Christ to die. Through the victory of Christ on the cross of Calvary, we gained absolute victory over the world. But who exercised this will? God through Christ's death and resurrection. Then this is what He made us after exercising His perfect will - world overcomer. Did you grasp the cognizance? Hallelujah!

Another Scripture that communicates what God made us as a result of exercising His perfect will, which He purposed in Christ, is this: "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light" (1st Peter 2:9 NIV). What praises? His exercised will on our behalf in terms of rescuing us from the domain of darkness and transferring us to His Kingdom of light. So we are called to proclaim the excellencies of the results of His will - in His marvelous light. The next Scripture is that we love because He first loved us (1st John 4:19 NIV). In other words, God exercised His will, which is - demonstrating His unconditional love for us, by giving us His one and only begotten Son, according to John 3:16.

When we respond to God's love by believing in and receiving Christ as Lord, we can also love and walk in perfect love. Got it! And notably, beloved, every detail of your spiritual exercise of faith according to God's will, will always bring glory to God because it is His will. Stay tuned for part 5. Shalom!
