SOLOMONIC WISDOM - PART 9

FRIDAY 06 JUNE 2025

Reference: 1st Kings 4:29-30 Amplified Bible (AMP)

"Now God gave Solomon [exceptional] wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, like the sand of the seashore. Solomon's wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the sons of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt."

Upon receipt of king Solomon's request, God Himself assured the king in the dream of the night saying:

"I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be. Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for - both wealth and honour - so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings" (1st Kings 3:12-13 NIV).

Beloved, I believe that the above versified passage is self-explanatory. However, ponder what God said to King Solomon, for the Lord will give you more or clearer understanding, which is so truly wise as due to condition your mind to weigh and consider the extra blessings that accompanied his gift of a "wise and discerning heart" in this specified revelatory information.

For simplicity of clarity, the denotative inference intensifies the expression of God's desire that we should be endowed with both wealth and honour, aside from gaining wisdom and great discernment. Into the bargain, from my observatory intelligence and unreserved consideration, I can acknowledge that indeed, every gift based on revelation from God, is always full of favourable goodness, peace and satisfaction to the recipients, because it is mainly granted on account of His unconditional love and munificent thoughtfulness. Zero wonder the Proverbial Edition of Solomonic wisdom reads: "The blessing of the LORD brings [true] riches, And He adds no sorrow to it [for it comes as a blessing from God]" ~ (Proverbs 10:22 AMP).

Another Solomonic inspired utterance says, "But whoever listens to me [wisdom] will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil" (Proverbs 1:33 NKJV). How was this truth sufficiently accomplished in the era of King Solomon's reign? Let us consider the versified passage below!

1st Kings 4:20-25 (NIV) reads:

"The people of Judah and Israel were as numerous as the sand on the seashore; they ate, they drank and they were happy. And Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. These countries brought tribute and were Solomon's subjects all his life. Solomon's daily provisions were thirty cors of the finest flour and sixty cors of meal, ten head of stall-fed cattle, twenty of pasture-fed cattle and a hundred sheep and goats, as well as deer, gazelles, roebucks and choice fowl. For he ruled over all the kingdoms west of the Euphrates River, from Tiphsah to Gaza, and had peace on all sides. During Solomon's lifetime Judah and Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, lived in safety, everyone under their own vine and under their own fig tree."

In accordance with the above versified statements, the embedded insight readily reveals that the blessing of the LORD truly enriches, and He adds no sorrow to it. Or did you not notice that during Solomon's lifetime, the people of Judah and Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, celebrated massively with joyful exuberance - due to a satisfactory reign? Did you not equally notice that they all lived in peace and safety in toto? Stay tuned for part 10. Shalom!
