SOLOMONIC WISDOM - PART 8

Updated: 22 hours ago

THURSDAY 05 JUNE 2025

Whenever Solomonic wisdom crosses my mind, I'm reminded of the excellency and glory of a King whose wisdom surpassed everything else known as other peoples' wisdom in his day. More below!

Reference: 1st Kings 4:29-30 Amplified Bible (AMP)

"Now God gave Solomon [exceptional] wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, like the sand of the seashore. Solomon's wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the sons of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt."

Solomonic utterances considered godly wisdom as the principal thing, which implies something of great worth or value, containing the rich mines and hidden treasures sourced from eternal truths. Zero wonder a wise person is hugely esteemed as rare or precious.

As a functional wise man, King Solomon had:

1. Exceptional wisdom.

2. A very great discernment.

3. Breadth of mind, like the sand of the seashore.

In line with the first segment, the gift, namely exceptional wisdom, is an extraordinary and unique wisdom with beneficial usefulness, such as good judgement and supreme intelligence which can be exercised in various management of earthly activities, or in diverse matters.

As for the second segment, the gift namely, great discernment, is indicative of a very large and abundant depth of understanding, which involves the act of being able to comprehend what is obscure and to perceive the details accurately.

The last segment, acknowledged as "Breadth of mind" like the sand of the seashore, is denotative of "high powers of a developed mind" that yields vital contributions in connection to moral responsibility and excellence. In other words, King Solomon could take on a role of effectively addressing any form of challenge that faced humanity, resulting in sound decision-making, protection of human rights, and exertion of requisite compassion.

Beloved, in Christ Jesus, the spiritual man is the person to whom God bestows the knowledge of His will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding as listed above. To that effect, the KJ21 Translation of Pauline epistolary expression reads: "For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding" (Colossians 1:9).

This particular Pauline prayer guarantees exceptional wisdom, a very great discernment, and a breadth of mind, like the sand of the seashore, and they are aptly intelligible to faith in Christ Jesus, meaning that they come with insight into His purposes, within the comprehension of spiritual things. Are you with me?

How great has anyone known and understood the mind of God by natural power or human ability? We can only be empowered by the Spirit of truth to ascertain and access His mind. In the Holy Scriptures, the mind of Christ, or the mind of God in Christ, is evidently made known to us by the Spirit of wisdom and understanding. On account of this truth, apostle Paul did not cease to pray and to desire that the Colossian saints might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.

Beloved, it is a "profoundly great privilege" that in Christ Jesus, we can obtain exceptional wisdom, a very great discernment, and also, expeditiously function with high powers of a developed mind - by gaining the mind of Christ which the Spirit reveals and establishes in us. That way, we experience the truest power of the great riches and most valuable treasures in Christ - in our lives, which in turn, brings forth good fruits in our world. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Proverbs 2:6; Ecclesiastes 7:12; Romans 11:33; James 3:13-17.

Guided Prayer:

Heavenly Father, the excellency of the wisdom and knowledge hidden in Christ is extremely overwhelming and priceless. Being an all-wise God, I'm grateful that you've created me anew in Christ Jesus, in order for me to constantly experience uncommon wisdom and a great deal of spiritual understanding which the Holy Spirit grants. More so, I am amazingly joyful that all the good things hidden in Christ are laid up for my good and glory, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
