SIN IS NOT GOOD FOR YOU

Sin is an immoral act considered to be a transgression against God. According to Romans 5:12, when Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam's sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. The sequence is, first sin, then death (see James 1:15 NLT). Through Adam's sin, death was passed to entire mankind.

Reference: Romans 5:8 New International Version (NIV) 'But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.'

Sin is not good for anyone. This is the reason our gracious God demonstrated His love for mankind by sending Christ to do away with it. It was a major concern to God to the point that He didn't rest until He clearly displayed the magnitude of His love by sending His Son as a proof. This is how far God had to go to do away with sin.

If we examine the above Scripture reference, we would grasp that this is just the wonder of grace. While we were yet in the act, God did something about sin. Think about it: If some of us were God, would we spare anyone that trespassed or sinned against us, let alone demonstrate our love for them, while they still trespassed? Not really! Aren't you glad that none of us is God, otherwise no one would survive or escape the penalty of sin? The Bible says in Ephesians 2:4-5 (NIV) - But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions- it is by grace you have been saved.' God is rich in mercy and for that reason, He demonstrated His great love for mankind.

The single sin of the one man, Adam, introduced the reign of death. Sin entails the works of the flesh according to Galatians 5:19-21, but the advantage of grace is that all sins have been paid for by the atonement of Christ. Jesus took the indebtedness and guilt of sin of all mankind and nailed it to the cross. He erased the penalty and the bill and set you free. What is now required of you? If you denounce sin and accept the gift of God, you'll renounce it's yoke over your life. What is the gift of God? The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Yes by grace, you've been made alive to God, but if you don't acknowledge it by giving your life to Christ, the reign of death will continue to have a hold and dominate over you. And here's the danger of sin: For the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23 NIV). Since Christ has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself, it is now appointed to man to die once, and after that to face judgement. That means, if you die in sinful nature, God's loving grace is a waste on your behalf. You will not return to gain a second chance or opportunity to embrace God's free salvation. You will face judgement and this judgement that follows one's sin brings eternal condemnation.

This is the reason for the gospel which is the good news, that introduced the reign of life. Even though one man's trespass brought condemnation for all men, so also one act of righteousness and sacrifice by one man, Jesus Christ, brought justification and life for all men. Romans 5:15 tells us that the gift of God is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many. Sin is not good for anyone. Therefore, if you don't have Christ, do not die in sin rather receive Jesus today by declaring the guided prayer below with sincerity of heart.

Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 John 2:1; Romans 3:22-24; 1 John 3:3-8.

Guided Prayer: Heavenly Father, I acknowledge today that you demonstrated your unconditional love for me in this: While I'm still a sinner, you sent Christ to die for me. Therefore I stand to renounce the devil's yoke over my life and to accept Jesus as my Saviour. I believe and confess with all my heart that Jesus is your Son, the true living God. He died for me and you raised Him from the dead on the third day. I believe that Jesus is risen and He's alive forever. I accept Him into my heart and I declare His Lordship over my life now and forever. From today, the Hosts of heaven have taken record that I'm born again. I'm now a new creation and I have eternal life: my present-moment reality! Thank you Lord Jesus for saving me and taking full charge of my life, as my Lord. Hallelujah!
