Planning and embracing a future with God could be likened to a great business deal that can never flop because with God, everything goes according to His perfect plan - in line with His perfect will and purpose for our future as we yield to the leading of His Spirit. To that effect, Jeremiah 29:11 reads, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end" (KJV). And indeed, the placidity of His divine administration and system of operation is invigorating and unfathomable. More below!
Reference: 1st Chronicles 17:26-27 New International Version (NIV)
"You, Lord, are God! You have promised these good things to your servant. Now you have been pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, Lord, have blessed it, and it will be blessed forever."
The Bible says this about Abraham in Romans 4:20:
No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God (ESV). Two mindful ideas are involved in this versified statement namely, the notion of continuous reflection and proclamation of the promise, as well as progressive thanksgiving, both which strengthen the faith muscles.
So the great words of apostle Paul, the writer of Roman Epistle, are descriptive of strong faith and disposition with which we are to receive from God, that is - with full confidence, plus cheerful and undoubtful responses, that sincerely express itself in full trust in what God has promised. To avoid a limping or wavering approach to God's promises, make quality time to prophesy the promises back to yourself until the realities are attained as your earthly utilization.
James' version of epistolary intelligence stated the behavioural theory which denotes both the right and the wrong way of responding to God in ardent relation to your expectations. It reads:
"But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways" (James 1:6-8 NKJV).
If James' version is intended to be emblematical, it will denote that doubt can stop you from receiving anything from the Lord, including unbelief (Paraphrased). Although James' focus here was expressive of a prayer request, with the elucidation of seeking for wisdom, the main key is that your request or expectation should be anchored by your single-minded commitment to God's unfailing character to deliver (see also Matthew 24:35 NIV).
So in this case, the bearing and attitude of your inclination, both verbally and practically, must be substantially aligned with the description of your prayer request. The same key applies to your expectations when it comes to any of God's promises. Stay tuned for part 10. Shalom!
Dear Father in heaven, I thank you for making my mouth a tree of life, full of grace and truth. With an unwavering attitude, I speak your promises into existence, thereby drawing forth the inexhaustible realities and peculiar resources incorporated and ensphered in my spoken words, which are in accordance with your perfect will for my life, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
