Daniel had an excellent spirit, which implies that the Spirit of excellence indwelt him. The Spirit of godly excellence is fairer and purer than any worldly spirit. It made Daniel's heart to always sing a new song. When you are an ardent partaker of the Spirit of excellence, it is enough to calm any agitation in people you come across or those who come around you, and you can make the faintest heart around you gain a fresh courage. With that double certitude palpable in your heart, you will always manifest in the realm of absolute dominion and royal headship. Indeed, the Spirit of excellence is like a sunshine, fairer than the moonlight, and shines brighter and brighter unto a perfect day.

"In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king consulted them, he found them ten times better than all the [learned] magicians and enchanters (Magi) in his whole realm."
The Greek word for excellence is areté, which denotes moral goodness, i.e. virtue. It also means a continued gracious act of uprightness, and a virtuous course of thought and action. The synonyms are: high quality, distinction, superiority, brilliance, greatness, eminence, merit, quality, great calibre, transcendence, value, worth, pre-eminence, supremacy, prominence, worthiness and high standard.
The Spirit of excellence is the source of all moral prestige, authority and superiority. When it is working in a man's life, the person displays admirable worth, exceptional abilities, and notable qualities, worthy of notice or attention. And this was exactly the case with Daniel. The Spirit in him constantly revealed God's glory in the palace, and opened people's eyes to see the excellence of his marvellous qualities.
The Spirit of excellence reveals recondite and esoteric information. That's the reason Daniel was acknowledged as a man who could divulge "little known" subjects or unknown mysteries among men. To that effect, Daniel 5:12 stated, "...this man—Daniel, the one the king named Belteshazzar—possesses an extraordinary spirit, knowledge, and insight into the meaning of dreams. He can explain ambiguities and resolve mysteries. Now in light of all that, summon Daniel! He will explain the meaning of this thing" (CEB). So when Daniel was brought before a new king, namely Belshazzar, the king said to him, "So you are Daniel, the Daniel from the exiles that my father the king brought from Judah? I have heard that the spirit of the gods is in you and that you possess illumination, insight, and extraordinary wisdom" (Daniel 5:13-14 CEB).
Now how do you cultivate the Spirit of excellence in today's world? Firstly, you must be born again, so you can have unlimited access to the Spirit behind divine excellence, namely Allos Parakletos. You cannot excel in God's term if you do not have the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. He is the homely phenomenon extremely needful in your life, if you want to excel as God's peculiar treasure and most-prized possession, bearing in mind that not everybody functions as His peculiar treasure and most-prized possession, except the Spirit of excellence has taken over.
So this Spirit can become activated and active in you when you have had a real first-hand and empirical encounter with the third entity of the Holy trinity, God the Holy Spirit, as coming to dwell in you in a true and genuine new birth. And you'll know that He resides in you by His own inner witness, because the Bible says that the Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God (see Romans 8:16 ESV). Stay tuned for more in part 10. Shalom!
As a child of God, I have the power of the Holy Spirit heavily at work in me, and I witness the excellencies of His glorious manifestations in my life from time to time. To that effect, I am excellent in power, unquestionable dominion and supreme authority. More so, I often engage Him as the Spirit of excellence and as a result, He expounds divine mysteries through my lips as the occasion requires. Hallelujah!
