ON THE TABLET OF YOUR HEART - PART 1

MONDAY 30 JANUARY 2023

This article is just an interesting introduction to what God has laid in store for us this very year. The Scripture below is sourced from Solomonic wisdom expressed as an instructive advice or guidance delivered to his son. Let's find out more!

Reference: Proverbs 3:3-4 English Standard Version (ESV) "Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man (Proverbs 3:3-4 ESV).

Steadfast love and faithfulness are not a form of discipline, subject or branch of knowledge studied or taught in a school, college, or university. This why they can forsake you, if you don't bind them around your neck. Binding them securely around your neck simply means to admit them in your life as governing truths, while inscribing them on the tablet of your heart implies establishing them firmly.

If they forsake you, it means that you are likely to face unfair responses and all kinds of unfaithfulness on a frequent basis or prone to be affected by certain conditions or occurrence from time to time, typically an unwelcome or unpleasant ones. King Solomon understood that nobody in their right mind wants to keep experiencing any form of irksome treatment or awful ordeals in life. Therefore, as a wise counsel, he says, "bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart." In other words, set them up and establish them as trees that bear good fruits in your life. In fact, let there be adequate functional programming of steadfast love and faithfulness so they won't forsake you at any point in time. Once they are programmed to work in your life, they become trees of expressions that promote godly values, divine blessings and great virtues in and through you.

Now what happens next, when you do so? They remain with you, such that you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man. In other words, you need both in order to enjoy God's favour, plus the goodwill of humanity. And this equally means that they don't have side effects. The resultant effects are only favour and good success. Remember that steadfast love and faithfulness are two spiritual forces or divine agents. Combined together, they are gifts of God's grace, and when implanted and ingrained in the tablets of our hearts, they become a security bound to increase our favour with God and man, such that we become extremely and supremely blessed, thereby sustaining a lively experience and fulfilment of God's love, grace, mercy, faithfulness and power in our lives. Hallelujah!

We saw this kind of experience happen in the life of King David when he established two similar or related spiritual forces, namely goodness and mercy. In Psalm 23:6, he affirmed, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever" (NIV). And we know how King David ended well. 1 Chronicles 29:28 noted that he died at a good old age, having enjoyed long life, wealth and honor. Then his son Solomon succeeded him as king (NIV). In the successive parts of this wonderful topic, I will show you how to establish steadfast love and faithfulness without money or without any cost. Stay tuned for part 2. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Deuteronomy 7:9; Psa1m 5:12; Luke 2;52; 1 John 4:19.

Exuberant Declaration: I affirm that I will never let love and faithfulness forsake me, because they are substantial qualities and heritage that define my existence. Therefore, I bind them around my neck and write them on the tablet of my heart, with sincere and intense conviction. Hence, I find favour, good understanding, and high esteem in the sight of God and man. Hallelujah!
