MIND ORIENTATION - PART 4

FRIDAY 22 NOVEMBER 2024

One of the manifold benefits often ascribed to interactions with the Word of God or the communion of divine life is that it grants us undeniable access to higher class of mind renewal which I will expound in my next article.

To that effect, Hebrews 6:1 reads, "So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don't need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God" (NLT).

The Word of truth provides us with a great deal of information and message of wisdom in relation to functioning in greater realms of glory in Christ; so mental orientation is not just about salvation and its redemptive effects. More below!

Reference: Romans 12:2 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

Today's focus is still on the segment:

"But be transformed by the renewing of your mind"

Question: What do we transform into as we renew our minds?

Answer: The image of Christ! To that effect, 2nd Corinthians 3:18 reads, "And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit" (AMP).

Seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord - implies that there is a communion going on, which wields the transformative power of God. Without this mirror, there cannot be effective communion. In other words, there is a real union between Christ and the saints, in which they capture His glory as they fix their eyes on the Word mirror, and this union is grounded on the foundation of fellowship. Without our inextricable union with Christ, there can never be such communion. So we've been empowered by this union to have fellowship or communion with both Father and Son, which implies that we are full partakers of divine nature.

On account of our inextricable union with Christ, our face is spiritually uncovered to behold the glory of the Lord, which in turn, results in enduring transformation. Since the communion thrives on the frequency of unveiled face, the accuracy of Christ's image is guaranteed in us from glory to glory, as we behold it, which also implies that we receive direct cognitive benefits from the mystery we behold. That's the reason, the latter part of the Scripture mindfully stated that the glory it echoes, comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

So the mental result reveals that as we sustain a continual viewing time concentrated on this mirror, the image we perceive is what we are truly transformed into. That's how the mystery of ever-increasing glory is achieved in our Christian lives. And I reckon this a great mystery. Stay tuned for part 5. Shalom!

Scripture Reading  - 2 Corinthians 4:16-18; Romans 8:6; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 4:20-24.

Guided Prayer:

My God, my Lord, and my Redeemer, I thank you for your transfiguration which is very immense, immediate and ongoing, because I continually behold Christ in the Word mirror. I'm equally grateful that I function in excellence and intensified transcendence because the Word mirror reproduces such image in me. Hence, I acknowledge that I have an attitude of openness and readiness in embracing your truth under the controlling and transforming influence of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
