LET THE PEACE OF GOD RULE IN YOUR HEART

Whatever rules in your heart is what controls your life. If you let the peace of God become the principle governing the issues of your heart, the results of its rulership will be displayed in every function and area of activities you indulge. The peace of God is the sense of trust and indivisible oneness with Him. It is the cincture of love or bond we share with Him that keeps us in the realm of rest.

Reference: Colossians 3:15 New King James Version (NKJV)

'And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.'

When you allow the peace of God to rule in your heart, you are in agreement with the most superior force in the universe. Every born again Christian has been given the peace of God. In John 14:27 (NIV) Jesus said, 'Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.' So you already have peace. You must therefore ensure that you activate it and raise the level of its awareness in your Christian walk, otherwise, it would remain dormant in you.

Let your heart and mind be ruled by this Godly peace. This is the kind of peace that is not tied to people or to this world (earth realm). Instead its a peace anchored within the veil of heavenly realms. Even though there is much unrest in our world today, you must not allow confusion, worry or troubling voices in the world to rule your life. Let this become your ultimate goal: to have and maintain the peace of God that assures rest in all circumstances and in all kinds of season.

How do we get this peace activated to rule in our hearts? First, understand that rulership has to do with responding to authority. If you are not fully submitted to Christ's authority, the peace of God can't rule in your heart successfully. Let us picture an ancient Roman soldier under authority. One of the basic equipment of an ancient Roman soldier was scutum. Each soldier was always armed with this large shield (scutum) because the shield provided much protection and they must wear it. So is the peace of God.

In Christ, you must wear the peace of God because it offers powerful protection in the world of crisis. No wonder Philippians 4:7 (NIV) says, 'And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.' Here it used the word, 'guard', which suggests 'absolute protection'.

To stay in this peace, you need to submit your mind under the ministry of God's Word. Love God and love His Word. Those who are in love with the Word of God have and enjoy steady peace in their lives. And here's the secret: Do not allow the Word of God depart from your mouth (Joshua 1:8 NIV). Meditate on it day and night. Psalms 119:165 (NIV) reads, 'Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.' Notice that it says, 'Great peace'. That means - surplus in nature. Did you get it? Praise God!

Isaiah 26:3 (AMPC) assures that God will guard anyone and keep anyone in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on Him, because the person commits himself to God, leans on God, and hopes confidently in God.'

Exuberant Declaration:

I have a perfect peace of mind and I function from a position of rest in all areas of my life. The peace of God that guards my mind and strengthens my inner man, grants me dominion over the issues of life in times of trial and crisis. As a valuable asset from God, it has brought stability in my the pathway. Therefore I rejoice in His presence everyday and enjoy the treasures of His pleasures forevermore. Hallelujah!
