LOOK DIRECTLY AHEAD

MONDAY 20 JUNE 2022

Looking directly ahead in life is walking according to wisdom of purpose in any area of human pursuit. It ensures that progress is certain. In another sense, it is the right thing to do in order to afford appropriate satisfaction in fulfilling our earthly duty and glorious destiny in Christ. Assuredly, this attitude will always guide us well into the future with undeniable results and notable outcomes.

Reference: Proverbs 4:25-26 Amplified Bible (AMP) "Let your eyes look directly ahead [toward the path of moral courage] And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you [toward the path of integrity]. Consider well and watch carefully the path of your feet, And all your ways will be steadfast and sure."

In the above Scripture, Solomon spoke as a father, instructing his son about the benefit of determined and purposeful focus. He says, "let your sight be focused in front of you and fix your eyes on what lies before you." Beloved, it's a 'mind and heart' thing. It's all about allowing what is ahead [purpose] to rule your mind and actions. In another way, be purposeful. Looking back will assign a limit over you. Therefore, let the right focus become a system of rule in your mind.

To achieve a better clarity, today's topic is a matter of breaking through laxity and apathy. This is because its quite easy to get comfortable, to settle for the status quo, and to contemplate the past when you're not focusing on what you are meant to focus on, in order to press toward your goal and reach forward to fulfil your purpose. When what lies before you captures your focus, your inner eyelids will be totally addicted to the images visually transmitted in your mental space, which are descriptive of what is to take shape in your future. What lies ahead can also be defined as your desired expectation in any aspect of life, which is a sincere representation of your future reality, although it still appears as an idealized cognitive imagery in your mind gallery.

Precisely, to keep your eyes straight ahead, you must ignore all sideshow distractions and noises and stay "au courant" with what lies ahead. This is what Paul meant when he expressed, "I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead" (Philippians 3:12-13 NLT). No matter your walk of life, the point here is to keep exercising and refining your pursuit, building your knowledge, and gaining the momentum - all of which will give you a distinguished advantage.

While keeping abreast of what is ahead and pressing toward achieving the goals of your purpose, there are things you need to observe or put into consideration as a Christian. They are plainly noted in our referenced verses, which read...."And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you [toward the path of integrity]. Consider well and watch carefully the path of your feet, And all your ways will be steadfast and sure." To paraphrase it, it means to ponder the path of your feet, and allow all your ways to be established aright. Mark out a straight path for your feet and stay on the safe path by carefully doing what is right.

Considering well and watching carefully where the path of one's feet leads to, can help any Christian to make the right choice, bearing in mind that the way of the wicked leads to darkness. So we must stay on the safe path by observing and doing what is right, because whether it is the path of the just or the way of the wicked, there are inescapable outcomes that accompany both paths. However, it's up to you to deal wisely in your divinely-assigned pathway (Psalm 32:8 NLT). Shalom!

Exuberant Declaration: My destiny is inscribed on a sure and solid foundation, namely Christ, and greatness is imprinted on the surface. Therefore, I have no business with the past, which consists of bygone time and old memories, because it is nothing compared to what God is doing in my present and future. I maintain a high-rise mindset and I sustain innovative ideas, owing to higher concepts continually discovered in my field. Hence, I perceive new and glorious possibilities springing up in my walk with God and I embrace them by the inspiration of the Spirit. Blessed be God!
