THURSDAY 27 FEBRUARY 2025
Daniel was a grail star trained in Babylon, as part of his assimilation into Babylonian way of life. He was a god who resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and thus, he asked the chief official for permission not to eat the food and wine prepared for the king's table, during his training. And for the reason of God's hand being upon him, God Himself caused the official to show uncommon favour and timely compassion to Daniel. More below!

Reference: 1st Corinthians 15:41 New King James Version (NKJV)
"There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory."
King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it, and then he ordered Ashpenaz, his chief of staff, to bring to the palace, some of the young men of Judah's royal family and other noble families, who had been brought to Babylon as captives. Daniel, a descendant of a noble Israeli's family, was among the potential candidates chosen alongside other Jewish youths who were exiled in Babylon.
So the stars from Judah were: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. The King ordered Ashpenaz to make sure they were well versed in every branch of learning, and were gifted with knowledge and good judgment, because such men of noble qualities were suited to serve in the royal palace.
To establish their new identities in a foreign land, the chief of staff renamed them with these Babylonian names:
Daniel was called Belteshazzar.
Hananiah was called Shadrach.
Mishael was called Meshach.
Azariah was called Abednego.
Beloved, God gave these four young men an unusual aptitude for understanding every aspect of literature and wisdom. And He also gave Daniel the special ability to interpret the meanings of visions and dreams, which made him superior to other stars, and indeed, he truly functioned with the highest and unrivalled standard of excellence in those particular respects.
In addition, during their training sessions, they were re-educated in the language and literature of Babylon, with the viewpoint of inculcating an adapting influence within a space in their mentality, which was entirely conducive to customary views of Babylonian people, wherefore henceforth, they obtained those vitally important views, for their external directional functions in Babylon and for their goodly serving advantages in the royal palace.
In the midst of all this, the four Hebrew boys did not lay aside any of their views which were consistent with God's instructions to His covenant people, bearing in mind that they were scions of Judaic descent, and so, their godly actions were honoured by God in due time, through an elevated rank among other "beau idéals" of great worth serving in the palace. Stay tuned for part 5. Shalom!
