GOD IS ABLE

MONDAY 30 DECEMBER 2024

God is able, and His performing ability is a term denoting His unfailingly grace to carry out His plan, execute His purpose or establish His promised blessing in a person's life. By comprehending who God is and all that His ability can deliver or perform, it becomes impossible for anyone to place a limit on God, except by their own doubt and unbelief.

Reference: Romans 4:19-21 New King James Version (NKJV) "And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform."

Abraham was old and his wife's womb was considered fruitless from the human standpoint. However He did not waver at God's promised blessing through unbelief just for this important reason - "God is absolutely reliable." Abraham knew he was dealing with a God whose attributes or character cannot be influenced or limited by any circumstance. Being fully convinced that God was more than able to perform what He had promised him, he kept on praising God.

God's ability to perform His Word motivated and strengthened Abraham's faith against all odds. So he lived his life in light of the unquestionable character of His trustworthiness. He was a man that walked with God, believed God and was specially called God's own friend. The Bible says, 'And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend' (James 2:23 NIV). As the friend of God, he demonstrated his faith in God - in line with his conviction about God's impeccable faithfulness.

Beloved, God is forever faithful and the primary goal in HIs mind is to get you to see that all His promised blessings to us are already a guaranteed possibility in Christ and as you submit to His guidance, resist the devil and hold fast to the promise that pertains to your situation or any aspect of your life [in practical manner], He will reveal His glory in your life in accordance with the description of the promise.

All of God's blessings in spiritual, physical or material realm come to us through the words of His purpose. This is why God, Himself, stays alert to watch over His own Word, making sure it is fulfilled in your personal life, as you remain focused on walking in the reality. In other words, He is committed to defending His integrity. In Jeremiah 1:12 (AMPC), the Lord said to Jeremiah, "...for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it." The ERV reads, "I am watching to make sure that my message to you comes true."

In your Christian walk, the promise is speedily established, depending on the strength of your faith and your positive confession characterised by undaunting spirit. But sometimes, you may be faced with a problem or challenging situation while expecting to see the manifestation of the very word God has spoken concerning you in any area of life. At such times, the waiting may not be a pleasant experience in itself, regardless of the problem-solving efforts you may apply, but you must make up your mind to endure hardship, and be resilient and faithful.

However, strengthening your faith with God's Word and with prayer and fasting will remain the source of your tenacity and comfort, which emboldens and empowers you with the assurance of God's performing ability. Firstly, you must agree and be convinced that every promised blessing in Christ is already yours, and secondly, you must know them specifically and by revelation, including whatever God has directly spoken to you. Thirdly, you must be grateful, confess them and demonstrate your belief and conviction by behaving accordingly. For instance, speaking them forth and giving glory to God are the evidence of strong faith (see 2 Corinthians 4:13 NET).

All of God's blessings are summed up in the gift of His grace that was revealed through the finished work of Christ, and so, we have no basis to doubt their fulfilment in our lives. Simply put, the descriptions of all the promised blessing are encapsulated in the overall gift - called "grace", which is already given to us in Christ Jesus.

Moreover, God can allow trials that can challenge your faith to come to you, in order to know how much you can trust Him and remain confident - prior to their manifestation in your life. This means that your personal conviction and unfaltering motivation in the process of their fulfilment are important to the progressive development of your spirit being. If you understand this and continually apply the right spiritual approach, His performing ability is well assured and you will always testify. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Joshua 21:45; 2 Corinthians 1:20; Hebrews 11:1,6; 2 Corinthians 4:17-18.

Guided Prayer: Dear precious Father, I thank you for the knowledge of your Word which communicates every promised blessing you've freely given and provided for me. As your purchased possession, I'm fully persuaded that you are more than able to do and perform all you've said concerning me according to the counsel of your will. Therefore, with this mentality and by faith, I aver and take hold of the blessings as my inheritance, thereby possessing untold wealth and wisdom, hence living in health, victory and dominion, and fulfilling your purpose and plan for my life with joy, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
