As born again Christians, we should set our hearts on the things of the Spirit, and always occupy our position with Christ in the realms of the Spirit, which will in turn reflect in our earthly lives as we do so by the enabling influence of the precious Holy Spirit. More below!
Reference: Ephesians 1:20-21 New International Version (NIV)
"...and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in the present age but also in the one to come."
Why am I still expounding this revelatory insight: We are seated with Christ at God's right hand, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion? This is because I want to see or witness a significant possibility of an "increasing" acquaintance of born again Christians with this timeless truth, which is the perfect will of God.
God started this journey with us by revealing to us, His glory on earth through the human nature of Christ (see Galatians 4:4 NIV). To that effect, John 1:14 reads, "The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth" (NIV). Did you observe that this is a "good confession" verbalised in accordance with the Gospel of John by those who experienced Christ's manifestation in bodily form - on earth? But bear in mind that they were born during the era of Jesus' presence on earth, which permitted their mortal eyes to bear witness to the brightness of His Divine glory.
Now watch this: Personally, I did not meet or experience Christ Jesus in bodily form on earth but we all can observe that whilst the subject-matter is the same, our present-moment confession is respectively different from the above versified confession because we are currently joined to the Lord on a whole new level - which is Christ's victory and supremacy.
In accordance with the Gospel of John, the "former witnesses" professed, or rather confessed that they had seen His glory, the glory of the One and only Son, Jesus, who came from the Father, because they physically met Him in the flesh, and He made His dwelling among them, but we as "the latter witnesses" have a superior or greater testimony because of His indwelling presence in our hearts, which is just beyond Christ showing up in the flesh - and that is:
"We are seated with Him at God's right hand in the heavenly realms of glory, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in the present age but also in the one to come."
So we are not those who are simply witnessing the glory of the One and only Son that came from the Father in human flesh; we are presently seated with Christ and God the Father, meaning that we are not far in terms of proximity. Hallelujah!
What is my reason for revealing this significant variation in two "witnessing" contexts and conditions? This is to indicate that our association or relationship level with Christ and God the Supreme Deity, has been upgraded. Got it? Therefore act and function accordingly, and be immensely thankful that we cannot operate incognito, when it comes to our stand with Christ Jesus and God the Father even in the earth realm. The outright revelation of our position with Christ Jesus and the Almighty God comes with indisputable clarity, and to instantiate this verity with further clarification, Johannine literature numbered as 1st John 1:1-4 reads:
"We want to tell you about the One who was from the beginning. We have seen Him with our own eyes, heard Him with our own ears, and touched Him with our own hands. This One is the manifestation of the life-giving Voice, and He showed us real life, eternal life. We have seen it all, and we can't keep what we witnessed quiet—we have to share it with you. We are inviting you to experience eternal life through the One who was with the Father and came down to us. What we saw and heard we pass on to you so that you, too, will be connected with us intimately and become family. Our family is united by our connection with the Father and His Son Jesus, the Anointed One; and we write all this because retelling this story fulfills our joy" (Voice).
I believe that the above versified statements in accordance with 1st John 1:1-4 is self-explanatory, and I know that it inspires and awakens us to the reality of our joint sitting with Christ at God's right hand both before the very "unseen" eyes of our imagination, and within the "seen" functionalities of our earthly activities, with a more august and distinguished advantage than that of "before Christ's death and victory" which Johannine literature in accordance with the Gospel of John confessed in John 1:14. Stay tuned for part 9. Shalom!
I'm utterly grateful to God for the permanence of continuous oceanic outflows of amazing grace evident in my Christian lifestyle, which is accompanied by the dawning of Kingdom light that precipitates the victory of Christ within me for a successful, progressive and productive Christian living, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
