FAITH: THE SUBSTANCE OF THINGS HOPED FOR

Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. In other words, there are realities in the spirit, but faith gives substance to those realities until they manifest in the natural.

Reference: Hebrews 11:1 New King James Version (NKJV) 'Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.'

Faith is the security that guarantees your hope or desire till it manifests. It is acknowledging that something is already a reality despite the fact that it is yet to be seen. Since faith is a substance of what you hope for, then it has to be confessed in order to attract your expectation. Confessing your faith must be in line with the Word of God.

In order for the Word of God to come to pass, faith expressed from your lips must give substance to it. So faith isn't an empty hope, it is based on a reality (the Word). To get you to understand this better, I mean that your faith must be in God's Word. Paul wrote in Romans 4:17 what the verse, Genesis 17:5 meant. He explained that God made Abraham the father of many nations and so He will accept all people in every nation who demonstrate faith in Him as Abraham did.

So the basis of our faith comes from God Himself, who makes the dead live again and speaks of future events with as much certainty as though they were already in existence. Now, as evidence of this, Abraham didn't speak into existence, what was not there before. Abraham believed and spoke into existence what God had already confirmed - Isaac. If you get this clearly, you'll easily function in faith. Every promised inheritance in the Word of God can be spoken into existence in your life - by you!

As Abraham believed God, acted on His promise and Isaac became the result, any inheritance you believe in the Scriptures, you can also activate the result by speaking it into existence. As long as you do not waver through unbelief, but maintain your confession, it will come to pass in your life.

Your faith has no creative power. It is just a substance of something that already exists or made available in the Word. Again, faith is the substance of what you are hoping for, which is already provided by God's Word. Where the actual creativity happens is when you vocalise your faith in the Word. Those words of faith you speak forth - create or give a physical form to spiritual realities.

Everything or inheritance God has delivered to us in His Word is a spiritual reality. They exist in the spirit , but not in the natural. Until you claim them by faith, they will continue to exist in the spirit. Here's how to develop faith for them: Always listen to the Word of God and store it richly in your heart (Colossians 3:16). This is because faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17). Then read the Word meditatively and speak it forth to affirm what already exists in the unseen world, knowing that it will materialize in the natural because its God's will.

Scripture Reading - Matthew 21:22; Mark 11:24; 2 Corinthian 5:7; Hebrews 11:6.

Guided Prayer: Heavenly Father, your Word is truth and I'm fully convinced that all your promises have been fulfilled in Christ. As I read through the Bible verses to locate my inheritance in Christ, my faith is stirred up to reflect, meditate and speak them into existence and I'm positioned to enjoy them in Jesus' Name, Amen!
